IMO Povetkin is the last true heavyweight of our era who takes some real challenges despite his small size. The rest of them are just hypejobs careful matched with padded records, poor boxing skills and glass chins.:nod
Say goodbye to Sasha. Now the world is watching Russia and the way they go about business with drug testing of Russian sportstars its not so easy to juice and that man has been forcefed Peds since the day he turned amateur.
Yeah the guy who couldn't get close to wlad is a great brave warrior whilst the guy who took all his belts is a joke, the logic is strong in this one
Those three are cr#p .journey men .till pov fights and beat a contender he is wasting his time let's see him against Wilder or maybe del boy that will tells us more about him.
Except current Del Boy is on the same level as Charr who's not even a top5 win for Povetkin and is a lesser fighter to Takam, Chagaev, Chambers and Perez (the versions that Povetkin beat).
I like Povetkin but he doesn't look like he's on another level to everyone else. Huck gave him hell, Wlad dominated him and even Takam had a lot of success early on before being worn down. I wouldn't even see him as a huge favourite over Wilder who represents a very difficult style match up for him.
people reminise about golden ages where there was massive depth. i followed boxing closely from the ali passing the torch to holmes era where he fought his some good fighters like witherspoon who was at joshuas level about 15 fights the time to eveangalta and frazier /greg page /dokes/tubbs/coetzee /thomas/etc etc was an average era in depth/that passesd to tyson /same type of depth/passed to lewis /same /passed to klitchkos /same even the golden 70`s is a bit of a myth , it was diluted because it was an american only era uk had the great bugner and the heavy bag at the royal oak pub/ali /foreman/frazier/coopmans/ i spread it out in 5 year eras and it evens out
