Just pointing out the double standard. Good to see the trolls from the boxing thread still make it over to panic because their sport is dying.

If UFC becomes the combat sport to "replace" boxing, then it will be a sad state of affairs. It'd be like R&B and dance music replacing heavy rock...

I just can't watch your Aldo-McGregors, Holm-Rouseys and think this is good stuff. It's not possible for me.

Fair point, maybe I didn't use the right wording. My point was that his resume left a bit to be desired.

Have you ever seen a boxer caught cold in the first round or early in a fight. Froch springs to mind v Groves.

I think MMA is more aggresive in the stand up than Boxing which makes for more entertaining fights.

MMA is still an undeveloped, niche sport with a small talent pool and much lower level athletes/talents than a combat sport like boxing. This is just fact. They way the UFC is marketed like WWE and how they recenetly had some useless fat slag who can't fight for toffee as their number one star tells you everything you need to know.

Classic talk in boxing is about guys like Joe Louis, Willie Pep, Jack Dempsey, Jack Johnson etc. In MMA it's guys like Cro Cop, Fedor... guys who are actually STILL fighting I believe.

Don't take me too seriously here though, I'm exaggerating somewhat.

Pretty much, yet MMA fans like to make them out to be some incredible athletes and monsters. They're not.
