Molina is one of Szpilka's sparring partners

Is Molina really the best sparring partner to prepare yourself for Wilder?

 

He's probably cheap enough to hire as a sparring partner. His team probably knows he's been cherry picked and want to maximize earnings by not spending too much on sparring partners.

 

I dont give him much of a shot but this doesnt help

 

He's just one of many sparring partners. He's only there to help and give him tips. I have high doubts that he's the best sparring partner they are getting to duplicate Wilder....

 

Some of you guys act like Szpilka is only hiring one sparring partner lol Molina is there for suggestions and tips

 

The whole idea that someone like Molina can give valuable insight into how Wilder fights is ridiculous though. He has had one fight with him, and let's not prentend that Molina is some scholar of the sweet science.

 

He's definitely no scholar but I think it only helps that he's there to say a few things that he saw Wilder do - from a fighter's point of view.

 

That's what his team is thinking obviously. In my opinion this is a classic mistake made by trainers and boxers who doesn't really understands how to properly prepare for a fight. At the end of the day the money they spend on getting molina could have been spent on sparring partners with a style to properly prepare them for what Wilder brings to the table in a fight.

I could be wrong of course, I admit I know very little about boxing. Perhaps Molina is known in the boxing community as a great sparring partner. But I really doubt great trainers like Emmanuel Steward would have suggested that Wlad should hire the likes of Molina as a sparring partner to prepare for a fight against Wilder for instance.
