Barthelemy is clinching, a lot. Shafikov is jabbing his way inside and tossing a wrecking ball left uppercut into the body, telegraphing it willingly as he knows Barthelemy is about to grab him anyway. Shafikov accepting the inevitability of the clinches and willing to gamble on maybe landing a body shot or two before they happen. Barthelemy is throwing a few light pot shot up-jabs and/or lefts as he jettisons himself away from Shafikov after the clinches are broken.

Clowing aside, Barth won the 11th and 12th pretty clearly to seal the deal on my card. But with the amount of close rounds, my 116-112 Barthelemy card could be offset by a 115-113 Shafikov card and I wouldn't complain all that much.

 

Why they saying it would be shocker if shafikov wins?

Definitely seeing a lot of these rounds more like you. Commentary very biased towards Barthelemy.

He was almost throwing the fight between 3-7. I wouldn't disagree with a draw though.

 

Really hope Shafikov gets the nod, the refs shouldn't award rounds for holding and running

 

Shafikov is a Bashkir they're native to the Urals.

Not very clear. It's a close fight. But the house judges will probably have it wide.
