Was SRR or Ali ever as impressive as Floyd was against Gatti?

I don't think so. You just felt that night we were witnessing something probably no fighter before or since will ever be able to recreate.

I've watched this fight so many times. People will say he was custom made for Floyd but that was a brilliant display of offense and defense. How many guys made gatti quit. He was brilliant in that fight and imo was his absolute peak. Ali was impressive against Cleveland Williams though. His movement was as good as Floyd's and considering hw aren't supposed to move like that. I give Ali the nod there.

Watch Robinson vs LaMotta for the MW title.

    Watch Ali vs Williams.

I think Floyd was more impressive against Corrales.

I thought Roy Jones Jr. was more impressive against James Toney, considering the opposition.

Did SRR or Clay fight anyone at that level whilst in their absolute prime??

    I don't think so.

Robinson faced Graziano who sounds similar in style to Gatti.

    Ali faced Williams.

Exactly. Gatti was a prime H2H beast and like most of his opponents literally twice the size of Floyd.

Floyd was mesmerizing that night. Truly one of the best to do it.

ward was a hard/strong /tough fighter /but he had average hand speed/length and was best fighting in the pocket.
he hit gatti over 1000 times in 3 fights /most were power shots as ward and gatti thought jabs and ducking was for wimps.
