Is Martinez-Williams II the best performance this decade so far?

    I can't think of a better one at this point. Williams was cut down by the accident had a chance to be a bona fide ATG.

    He was a lethal H2H nightmare. But Martinez shuts his lights off.

    I can watch the KO about 20 times in a row and think it's amazing every time I watch it.

    I appreciate efficiency as much as tenacity and stamina.

    Hey a legit KO over opposition like that is a legit KO.

    Its up there, Martinez realized what a powerful weapon he had with the overhand left late into the first fight that rocked Williams several times, but he didn't have the strength left to put everything he had into the shot that late into a fight that was that furiously paced. So in the rematch he picked up right where he left off, he went out on the attack in the first round stunning him in the corner a few times, and the second round he went intentionally trying to bait Williams into a perfect position so he could set up and throw that shot, and he did and it worked brilliantly.

    One of the best performances by far.

    It was surreal watching it live. Such a beautiful yet brutal KO. The sound of the punch always gets me.

    It was an awesome performance by martinez no doubt I think its a top 3 so far in this decade.it is for sure the knockout of the decade no question.Im still surprised about that ko not by martinez winning but the way he won I mean the punisher had an iron chin and we all expected a repeat of their first fight which was a classic.it sucks paul williams had that accident boxing misses him badly this was a guy who fought anybody at anytime and was exciting to watch.

    I was in AC that night, at the fight, when Martinez hit him with that shot, literally Boardwalk Hall went silent. Up until that point it had been pretty noisy but everyone saw that punch, for a split second Williams body froze upright then fell. During that half second nobody made a ****ing sound.
    I'm always struck how on tape he seems to fall instantly, whereas in-house, it looked like he froze upright.
    Chilling moment.

    Williams's chances to be an ATG were mostly cut down by his own deficiencies, particularly on the defensive side.

    JMM KO of Pac is the greatest performance of this decade.
    Martinez-Williams has no historic significance, Pac-JJM does.

    Disagree. Williams was much more dangerous at 158 than Pacquiao was at 147.

    The Pacman has no knockouts at 147.

    Martinez just dominate the second fight. Drove him into the ropes, circles him, timed him, and laid him out. It was spectacular.

    In 20 years your grand kids will be watching Pac-JJM on ESPN classic.

    Any one that knows anything about Boxing will tell you that.

    Martinez spent most of his career at 147. He was by no means a big middleweight.
