Sorry but you have misinterpreted what I mean, people I would class as a natural talent are guys that have natural technical ability, world class ability. Not just a world class fighter but in terms of their skill set. Froch was world class, arguably elite but he has nowhere near world class skills, and I see Blackwell as a good European level fighter but with a domestic level skill set if that makes sense.

 

The other thing is he legitimately blasted out Ryder. That is miles better than any win on Eubank's record. We have to remember that Spike is a fairly basic fighter.

 

would not surprise me if Blackwell beats him.....Eubank jr is not nearly as good as some are making out imo,a bit of a windmiller and easy to hit...can see him tasting a few defeats unless he signs with Hearn and has a load of easy fights

 

also Blackwell has Gary Lockett as a trainer, and he looks like a top coach.
Whose going be coaching Eubank Jr is it still Booth or has he left him like Hearn

 

With the right approach NB is a threat to anyone - certainly anyone on the British/Irish scene. Someone who cant see this doesn't understand boxing as well as they think!

 

It looks like this fight will happen as English/Eubank Snr./Simply The Best implied as much today on Twitter.

 

So what are you saying? That NB will be ruled out from achieving anything at world level due to not being - in your opinion - a 'natural talent?

 

Blackwell had only had 8 pro bouts at the time and his prior experience just 30 unlicensed bouts. Murray was a seasoned 22 bout professional who won the ABA's as an amateur.

He was soundly beaten that night but I would not judge Nick Blackwell's whole career against that. He has a live chance vs CEJ.

 

I think it was last year and Blackwell has improved a massive amount recently.

 

Blackwell has lost three of 23 fights and has a 35% KO percentage, a record largely against domestic level fighters. Not in the same class as CEJ and not a record that suggests he's some kind of 160llbs monster. Also if he did out-strength CEJ in sparring (and that's a BIG 'if') it must have been some time ago as CEJ is a beast at middleweight now. Look what he did to BJS in the 2nd half of that fight... he got beat, yes, but he pushed BJS all round the ring in the latter rounds. In conclusion... this story sounds like Billy Joe Saunder's initials, minus the 'J'

 

Have to echo these sentiments really. I think the fact he pushed BJS so hard in the closing stages would suggest that he has too much for Blackwell who I think is a good domestic/euro level fighter in his own right which is a type of caree that people shouldn't sniff at.

 

Spot on! I talk To the Lockett Man alot , they have their plan. Jr has one thing in common with Sr within the ring and that is he likes his time to think ( remember Watson, Collins and Calzaghe) Blackwell is not going to give him time to breath let alone think, hes going to be on him constantly. Spikes prob was he just stood there and let Jr do as he wished depending on his power.

Blackwell will be in Jr face all night jabs, body movement, right hands and body shots. Nick Is a tough Freak and he has a better engine than Jr.

They last sparred about a year ago

 

Blackwell has sparred with Froch and Froch told Blackwell he`ll be a World Champ. Blackwell has come on well and with the Lockett man hes only going to improve

 

Those of you knocking Blackwells record, His fight against Murray was way too soon he had no real promotional backing or management behind him , his loss to BJS is not that bad in hindsight, he hurt BJS in their fight and gave him a tough time and now BJS is a World Champ. He was robbed against Bursak, he had Khomitsky almost out sadly it was a six rounder another rd and Khomitsky would have been finished.
