Anyone in the public eye even engaging with Patel is embarrasing themselves, the guy is clearly just a wind up merchant.

Will enjoy Flanagan flattening Mathews, Derry seems a bit to sure of himself for someone so limited from what I have read on twitter etc.

 

I agree and what Derry said too was racist and uncalled for. Ya I think Derry Matthews might suffer from Paul smith syndrome . Paul smith is the greatest example of a fighter over estimating himself

Not read the tweets yet and i dont condone racism, but my experience with Derry in person or via media is he is a gent, an I for one think he will win the fight with Terry and I hope he does, 50 professional fights, on top of a great amateur career is not to be knocked, think respect is deserved, I think its a big problem with our fans in this country, just like knocking people

I do respect any fight without reservation, if you use wild comments on a public media outlet you, by the very means it was intended for, have left yourself open to be challenged.

 

I wont comment on twitter comments that have been made as not seen them yet, I was just stating my personal experience of Derry.

If he has been racist there is no excusing it an it is pure stupidity an ignorant, I hope he hasnt, I will look it up and be very disappointed if he has.

He has been a great role model to kids in liverpool an does so much for charity an seems to have time for everyone, just won gym of the year also, always come across to be a great bloke, was whenever I met him.

The tweet from Patel before Derrys country reply was, some ****hole in the uk an not London... Well that there could be classed as racism, what because Derry is white its ok?

Derry is from a working class city, and has worked hard to be where he is, say Derry was from the bronx, that tweet from patel would be highlighted as racist.

Derry should have done better with his reply though.

Patel is coming across very disrespectful to former and current fighters, he is so early on in his pro career also, lets hope for him he can back his mouth up or he is in danger of becoming a bigger laughing stock than what he is already bringing on himself

Crazy that these are promoted by the same team, its not the first public slanging match, if same weight I could understand FW letting it go to sell a fight but this makes no sense to me
