This is a bizarre thread. Bludgeoning an ancient, completely shot Ray Mercer (who was never really was that good to begin with) isn't a proper benchmark in assessing how good Wlad was then. Unless of course you think that a beyond shot former fringe contender is better than Fury. The reality is that Wlad back then had poor conditioning, was flat footed and very defensively vulnerable. Sanders throughly exposed that same Wlad in his very next fight. The version that last fought in Dusseldorf was more matured, better conditioned, far smarter, far more mobile than the one that was running around the ring like a headless chicken against Purrity or the one that got blown out by Sanders and Brewster. It took him some years to iron out all the kinks. So I go with a Fury late round stoppage over that Wlad.
