why has GGG'S offer to BJS been made public?

BJS will fight Eubank for much less.

You can see that the rematch is simmering.

Eubank, Cotto, Canelo - Billy will avoid GGG.

 

gonna take some seriously smart matchmaking if billy joe is to hold onto his title.....remember he only just got past Andy Lee....only just.....
Maybe they will take ggg - BJS will lose his title but make some money and wont lose face/credibility/marketability?????

I think that both CEJ and Cotto would get him more money tbh, CEJ would be a massive fight over here and Cotto vs BJS would do great numbers in the US due to Cotto's legendary status!

 

He's publicly stated he'd have no chance against GGG.

Cotto, in all fairness, is a legendary name to have on your CV from this era. So there's that, and there's also a chance to put to bed a domestic rivalry AND not have years shaved off of your life courtesy of GGG smashing your kipper in!

Cotto will be a dream fight for him and big money.

Eubank will be easy money for him.

GGG will be a long night and good money.

They'll make an excuse as to why the fight hasn't happened but BJS name is in the mix with the big names. They will use this elevated profile to bank on him. Try to remember how long fighters like Hatton were in the mix without really stepping up.

They aren't the type to make big risks so early.

Was it Smith vs Mosley (an embarrassing fight but banking on his profile) and so far it's been Jimmy 'couldn't' Kil anything let alone rain. That's barely a British title level fight.

We've been here before. We know the story. It's a boring one. I'm a BN subscriber for the shows that OTHER promoters put on!

 

It'll be Langford next. This GGG talk is at best optimistic.

 

Langford is a good fighter but I'd hope ****** wouldn't throw him in with BJS next. Get him a good couple of tests under his belt and that could be a good fight further down the line.

 

Im sure his boxing for the commonwealth title on flannigan matthews undercard

 

I think Wazzer will put him in with some no-hoper - string things along for a while - kill time - - cos all the 'big names' are too much of a threat at the moment.

Just seen he's boxing Lewis Taylor but it doesn't say it's for any other title. He's just defending his WBO Inter-continental belt. Still a decent test though.

 

He had won that fight clearly by round 7 and took his foot off the gas to stay out of trouble.

I think the Cotto fight is a great fight for BJS. Cotto isn't a middleweight, is past his best and is shop worn. I can see BJS outworking him to a decision. If he lost, they could position it as losing to a great of our generation so his stock wouldn't take a hit. Big payday too...cant see Cotto getting paid enough for it though.

GGG they will only take if it an offer they can't refuse.
