Why is PBF semi retired when there are so many good boxers that would challenge his

IMO true champions are active and do not back down from fights - in fact they should go after the top competition to prove their worth. Mayweather has not done this. He doesn't deserve to do down in history as the greatest, or even near the top.

 

because he's made so much money already. alot of people need to realise that even someone at great as SRR wouldn't have fought so much if he had made as much money as Floyd. SRR actually said once that he didn't like boxing

 

Money!!! If every fighter could fight once or twice a year and earn a 8 figure purse everytime they all probably would. Why fight 4 or 5 times a year and make a few million each time when you can make twice the combined money to fight once. I don't agree with it, I just understand it.

 

I guess he has been fighting at top level since 1998 and maybe he is now tired and will only to fight the fights that he want.

 

why does he have to fight everybody until he's brain dead? hes gone up 5 divisions gotten 6 belts he's almost 32. if he doesn''t wanna get beat in the head anymore,and retire young ,rich with all his sense whats your problem with it?

 

I say if you have a title, you should fight the contenders who want a shot at that title.. Not rematching people who don't deserve it.. I'm tired of this money excuse the Floyd's fans use..

You're off base here. Floyd beat the top 130lb. fighter in his 17th pro fight. He then beat a top 3 SFW in the form of Manfredy. He also beat prime, undefeated, top 5 p4p fighter Corrales, as well as highly ranked contenders and future champions Hernandez and Chavez.

After that he beat top ranked LW Castillo, then beat him again. He went up to 140 and eventually challenged top JWW Hatton, but was turned down. He then went up to WW and challenged undisputed champ Zab Judah. Zab lost that crown fighting his mando. Floyd beat Zab anyway, then beat top ranked WW Carlos Baldomir. He then went up to 154 and beat WBC champ and arguably the top 154 lb. fighter in the form of De La Hoya.

After that, he beat top 10 p4p, undefeated Ricky Hatton. There's only scalp left out there for Mayweather, and that fight will happen in due time.

If De La Hoya wanted to fight Cotto so bad, he would've done so in May instead of seeking a rematch with Floyd.
