Why do people talk about "commercial value" so much on here?

Brother in law does pyrotechnics for all the shows and apparently bjs v Lee was pretty dam empty he is the first there and the last to leave

Is then alleged 4000 tickets a figure that was achieved by BJS after ticket sales from other fighters? i.e. once Liam Smiths individual sales etc were taken off or are people saying that only 4000 tickets were sold for the whole event?

 

Think the 4K was based on tickets sold, reckon a good few freebies were doing the rounds sadly

 

It's an example, not the only reason. Boxing fans being absolute morons pre-date Eddie Hearn.

 

If that were true then it would mean that there were no real ticket sellers on the show? There was 14 bouts that night and with the likes of Liam Smith World title fight, Liam Williams British And Commonwealth, Paul Butler, Tom Stalker, Tommy Langford, Joe Selkirk as well as another World Title fight it would be a shocking turnout for FW. Somebody would need to answer for such a poor showing imo but I personally don't think the numbers are true but I suppose we will never find out!!

 

RTE said between 5-10k which is a ridiculous margin of error. Either way a 14 fight card with loads of domestic fights that can't sell out the place is shocking.

 

I think people on here often become fan boys of certain fighters and go to great lengths to justify ducking.

 

Loads of them are people who don't know and aren't from the north west so no disgrace if it doesn't sell out, however not selling 75% is a disgrace

There is a reason Andre ward an Olympic gold medallist and multiple world champion can't draw a dime. Hopkins is an ATG but again not what you call a 'star'

Gatti a world champion but a multiple loser was extremely popular.

Some fighters see just what you call box office while others regardless of how often they win are not.

 

Totally agree mate, just because you are a great boxer doesn't make you box office!!
