Hagler retired aged 32 having fought among others: Sugar Ray Leonard, John Mugabi, Thomas Hearns, Roberto Duran, Vito Antuofermo x2 and Minter. GGG by the same age had fought: Geale, Murray and Lemieux.

 

Hagler and his resume are under rated.

 

Used age as a reference point, that's all.

comparing a guy who hadn't won a title at the same age haggler had packed in his title career is not a comparison, its a fraking grand canyon difference.

That doesn't mean you were following American boxing back then. Watts and Monroe were better than anyone Golovkin has faced up to this point and probably better than anyone he will face at 160. I hate it when so-called fans feel like they have to tear someone else down to make their favorite fighter look better and you never miss a chance to interject something about race into the conversation. Seems like you have inadequacy problems. I like Golovkin and think he is a good fighter but he still has a lot to prove. Diminishing Hagler doesn't make Golovkin look any better.

Yes and No. Hagler was gun shy to engage with Duran. GGG eats Duran alive. And he gave up the early round to Leonard ( who could hit ) and Mugabi ( who can also hit. )

Hagler though talented was sometimes a reluctant warrior.

GGG hits harder, and does not give up any rounds as Hagler did.

It is true that Halger a natural middle had his best bouts with guys moving up in weight class. Too bad Mayweather won't fight GGG.

Regarding Hagler Those former lw's and ww's all had big wins above their best weight class !!

Duran beating Barkley for a MW title
Tommy Hearns beating Hill for a lhw title
SRL beating LaLonde for a SMW title .

Seems this is something Triple tune up defenders fail to talk about when making this blasphemous comparison to Hagler ..All these guys are first ballot hall of famers !No one on Triple tunes ups record of 33-0 is even considered ELITE!
