BJS asked Murray on Twitter if he fights at MW or SMW. Murray said he'd come down for a title shot and BJS said to speak to Frank...

Thoughts? The cynic in me thinks Hearn and FW would only work together for a PPV event.

More to the point, Murray shouldn't be getting another shot just like that. He's good and I wish him well but he should have to get some sort of meaningful victory first

    1) Billy is ducking Golovkin.
    2) Murray is undeserving of a title shot. Like, really undeserving.
    3) No way is this fight PPV material.

Billy Joe might be ducking Golovkin, but then so is every other sane Middleweight out there. I would advise him to continue to avoid him.

Sad but ultimately true. BJS, along eith every other MW gets beaten up and knocked out, by Golovkin with consumate ease. In any case, I'm sure if BJS gets £5/6M he'll take the fight knowing full well what the outcome is going to be.

How on earth will BJS get anywhere near 5-6 million GBP, when David Lemeiux was paid 2 million USD; I just don't think that is anywhere near possible, as that would mean they'd have to pay Billy over 7 million USD...

Where does GGG sit in the rankings of these bodies? Is he not mandatory to ANY belt holder now?

If I was him I'd decline any step-aside money this year and get them belts. Only way he will be come unified champ, otherwise. Those other title holders do not want to know about him.

I didn't think they ranked over champions, unless they hold one of their silly interim belts or whatever? Hard to tell with the way these stupid bodies work

    Either way, 5-6M is ridiculous

If you have a title other sanctioning bodies don't rank you unless you win an interim title. I know boxing has a complicated political situation but how long have you been following it?

Is Murray still under contract with Matchroom?
He doesn't deserve another shot - he needs to beat at least one ranked contender for it even to be considered but I don't think FW would mind putting it on IMO. BJS will easily outbox him.

Whilst I agree to a point, I often wonder why it's okay for fighters to have a 'soft' defense first. To me, a world champion should be gunning for the best in the division

Why should a guy who has just had his first world title fight immediately take on a guy who has won 15 and has been at world level for over 5 years? It's never happened to my knowledge in the history of boxing.

I like Gennady Golovkin, but he's almost 34 years old, and hasn't taken a fight where he's been anything other than a double figure odds-on to win, and shows no interest in ever doing so either.
