BS excuses for Donaire's loss to Walters. Walters a huge featherweight?

While I do think Walters was much the bigger man, I dont believe he was some freak at FW.
It was more a case of Donaire having no business at 126.

Walters weighed around 139 I believe for the Sosa fight.

Loma has weighed as much as 138 in the ring.

With some discipline, I wouldnt be surprised if Walters could still make 126.

He keeps saying he can

 

He has, but that's at his absolute heaviest so far, he's been as low as 128 too, I'd say his optimal is about 135 and Loma isn't exactly a small featherweight either, he could move up to 130 no problems as well.

 

Makes sense to me. He was the bigger guy in his last outing as well and that was at his new weight, wasn't it?

Walters looks to me to be a jr welter.

All that said, there are no excuses. Donaire chose to try his luck at a higher weight. He got beat down. End of story.

 

Gotta give Donaire props, he consistently challenged himself when he could've really milked just being a house fighter instead.
