Is Leon Spinks an ATG for beating Ali?

Is Buster Douglas and ATG for beating prime Tyson first?

No right? Well neither is Morales, Calazghe, or GGG for beating no one.

End of thread, have a nice day.:deal

    :hi:

Well if you knew what the definition of being an atg maybe you would understand !

GGG aside who is basically unproven against an elite fighter Joe Calzaghe and Erik Morales would be competitive for anyone at their best weight of any era that's the definition of an atg ..Beating great fighters cements that for you ,.Your examples of Douglas beating Tyson is retatrded because no one is calling Danny Williams or Kevin McBride atg's it also has to do with ones body of work as well !

True. Calzaghe brought the decision over BHOP.
BHOP is ATG, but Calzaghe, hehehehe..nope.

Since Morales defeated two ATG's in peak condition it's pretty obvious that he's ATG.

Probably one of the top 50 fighters of all time.

Boxing is a very old sport. I can easily name 50 fighters that are greater than El Terrible.

One of my favorite fighters in the early 2000's, but he's absolutely not one of the 50 greatest fighters who ever lived. If I rack my brain, I could probably list 75 fighters who are greater than him.

Anyway, I personally have him as a HOF fighter but falling quite short of ATG status.

What are the characteristics of an ATG fighter?

Durability. The ability to take tremendous punishment and not quit no matter what.

The ability to deliver a crushing blow.

The ability to avoid punishment via cleverness.

Beating an ATG fighter does not make you an ATG fighter. Going through your career exhibiting ATG characteristics beating top level talent make you an ATG fighter. The decision of crowning a fighter an ATG should never be given lightly. A fighter has to show they are worthy to stand besides the ATG that came before him.

Who's the 2 ? He beat pac fair and square. if you're talking mab, well **** no mab ain't no atg unless there's hundreds of atg's in your mind.

Then he could be from #251 to #300

"If you beat a legend, you become a legend".

It's pretty silly to argue otherwise when you really think about it.

This is all subjective opinion criteria. Can never be bothered with this illusory atg talk.

The idea is you don't put a fighter that is quick to quit alongside a true ATG who fights to the bitter end.

Hard to argue with two prime ATG's. Pacquiao, Barrera. Plus Hall of Famer Daniel Zaragoza. That solidifies the case.

ATG is generally thought of as top 100. So your "stretch" still has him make the cut

I sometimes wonder if boxing is too complicated for Americans to understand. 99% of the most idiotic posts and statements come from no-nothing Americans.

I think its obvious that beating an ATG when they are nearly/actually 40something doesn't count. anyone semi decent can do that, as a general pattern.
