    .....which was the truer indicator of Quigg's ability?

    The 2nd - where in one split second of luck? or talent? - he landed the Hail Mary that saved his career - and set Carl up with a nice little earner. The massive shock/relief on Scott's face at the time gives the lie to his subsequent claims that it was... "all part of the strategy" Yeah right, Scott!

    OR

    the disastrous 1st where for the entire 3 minutes, in one of the most inept examples of boxing seen for a long time, the allegedly light-welter sized Scott let a blown-up bantamweight bounce him all over the ring, and worse, he appeared clueless as to what to do about it.

    I think that fight perfectly sums up Quigg.

    Limited, but big (for the weight :D) and can overpower much better boxers that way.
    He would never be able to outbox a very capable boxer, but always will be dangerous at this weightclass.

    Doesnt bode well for any move up in weight then - he'll lose his main advantage - size.

    Anyone who thinks Quigg can outbox Frampton is just stupid But Quiggs size, strength and power will play a big part.

    How many clean shots did Kiko land ?

    How many of Kiko's shots missed wildly or hit arms and elbows ?

    How many times did Quigg land the counter right to head and body ?

    The very same counter right that dismantled Kiko a couple of minutes later.

    Quigg was moving away and countering constantly, unlike the 8th round of Framptons fight, where he spent most of the round eating big shots and clinging on to Kikos waist.

    Yep. The way some people talk Quigg was on ***** straight and was lucky to survive the round when in reality it was just a non event 1st round.

    I just rewatched it and have to agree with the last two posters. It's clear that Quigg's plan was to back off and look to land a big one as Kiko came in. And it worked. That uppercut was a peach and you could tell from the slo-mo that he meant every inch of it.

    you werent watching the same fight as the rest of us .....Quigg threw fewer punches than andy Lee in that first round.....:bbb

    Quigg did not look comfortable at all in that first round - he was badly exposed and it has to be a big worry to his fans .....

    Kiko was always an "all-or-nothing" kinda guy.
    He was always at risk of something like that happening sooner or later.
    No great credit is due to Quigg.

    Kiko deserves a chance to set the record straight with Quigg.

    I would fancy Kiko in a rematch.

    Quigg struggles to box going backwards, but with Kiko being so gung-ho he knew he just had to time him coming in and walk him onto a big shot.. which he did.
