No I mean the bit about tall glass chined fighters. Lewis would have definitely trained him if wlad was silly enough to get in a ring with him.A short painful lesson.

Cool how much respect Wilder obviously has for Lewis.

Tell Rahman that Lewis has no jab.

Wilder is heard saying to Lewis that he'd get more snap to it throwing the jab with with his arm tucked more.
Seems like Lewis say's no to that, but I think he's wrong.

The way Lewis is teaching it is more likely to connect because the distance to the target is shortened, but you're certainly not going to get the same snap to the punch just like Wilder said.

I think what Lewis should have conveyed is that its not always prudent to throw the jab from a particular stance and distance, sometimes its better to throw it in a way that its more likely to connect.
For example, a power jab isn't going to be thrown the way Lewis is teaching it, but it might be an excellent way to throw it to set up a right hand to follow up the jab.

Lewis had more explaining to do, but didn't convey it imo.

I'd be happy to hear what others think of this.

Was this an exchange deal? Did Wilder teach Lewis the windmill in return?

Watched this few times, dont think he meant it would not produce more power, but its not right thing to do since it has more ground to cover and is less likely to land, basically i think he meant you have enough power so cut the distance to the target and it will land more often, cause it is harder to read.

I heard what he said and it was more related to throwing with speed rather than power and that the closer you are to ths target before to start throwing ths punch ths quicker it gets there. He was pretty clear about that.

The video makes it seem like Lewis is teaching Wilder the proper way to throw a jab, but we likely did'nt hear the whole conversation between them.

I believe if the goal is to set up or guage distance, then the way Lewis was teaching in that video is the proper way.
But if you want the jab to cut or do damage, then you want to use more leverage to create more of a snap to the punch, and that requires the glove to have a little more distance to travel when it comes to the jab.

There's different jabs for different jobs. Depends on your style and mechanics.
