I dont like wilder and cant wait for him to be ko'd but how the **** are you gonna complain about a fighter being behind on points when he brutally ko's his opponent? dont be the george groves of this forum
because he was losing the fight my man. those scorecards are a mockery to the sport. 2 judges had him up 4 points pure bs:deal
I think many judges are thrown off by the gloves making depression noises even when a boxer doesn't land. Neither guy was landing at a high clip. Spilka was touching the body every round though. Judges don't seem to count jabs and crosses to the body, in the heavyweight division for some reason. Those judges got the PBC bonus more than likely. Spilka outlanded Wilder in damn near every round.
I can't stand Szpilka and I was rooting for Wilder but he was not winning that match, it wasn't a schooling by any measure and Wilder was blocking a lot of shots, but Szpilka was blocking his too, I'm glad Wilder got the KO, but those scorecards were ridiculous.
I thought it was even. Wilder no doubt started to get the distance figured out. What a night. Way to go Brooklyn you should do this more often. Love the HW division.
i had it 76-76 almost all the rounds were close and i dont get how people are blaming spilkas weak for the KO he was taking some good rights all nights but when he went for that overhand left his eyes were on the floor so he never aaw that perfectly timed right hand from wilder. I'm not taking anything from wilder but this hooligan who spent 1.5yrs in prison really gave him trouble in the ring so imagine when he difhts a REAL top 10 contender
Go back and re-read that idiots posts throughout the thread, he claimed that when Farhood had Wilder up a round or two that the card were generous for Szpilka, and that Szpilkas wifes reaction spoke volumes about how the fight was going(even though fighters wives are always on the edge of their seats and emotional) Dudes a clown........ He'd have been fine if every round was scored in Wilders favor.
It seems like he'd just be happy with the KO win and leave it at that. But he was to keep digging a deeper hole.
yeah I admit it is bad scoring the way it turned out on the three judges score cards, questionable for sure :good my only point was that it was a very close fight and difficult to score, rounds i gave to Spilky i gave to him without the solid confidence i like to give when i score a round, that's all i am saying :bbb
Wilder had some difficulty finding his range with a very mobile southpaw with some good head movement. He patiently awaited his opening and lowered the boom. Never in trouble or hurt at all. Against a guy whose power isn't shabby. Not a bad night's work. Like to have seen it happen sooner, but this is nothing that exposed him by any stretch of the imagination.
I had him winning, you should re-watch the fight, I score effective aggression, and the only person who was landing the clean headshots was Wilder. Most of Szpilka's landed shots were partially blocked. I'm good with the 77-75 scorecard.
