I must say after Tyson made his presence felt after the fight last night that I am really starting to warm to Deontay Wilder! Tyson was his usual self but imo he actually came off second best last night!

    1. Deontay managed to make Tyson stutter and by the end of the exchange Tyson just repeated the same thing as Deontay just said to him. Any time any place I'll be there!

    2. Whilst Tyson was taking off his waistcoat and proceeding to jump around the ring he didn't spook Deontay the way he visibly did against Wladimir.

    3. The whole WWE comment was also class, Tyson looked foolish jumping around after getting called out on his antics.

    4. I would also like to hear more from Deontay and what he meant by his comment that they could have done it already? Have Deontay's team tried to get the fight in the past?

    5. Also the your acting like a preacher but when I hit you I will baptise you was also class!

I like Tyson Fury and what he did against Wlad was amazing! But with all of Deontay's technical flaws if he hits Tyson clean I think he might put him cold! I also think that Deontay would also try KO Tyson which would make it a great fight!!

Still think Tyson would beat him but it makes it more interesting in my eyes!

    Anyone else warming to Deontay?

Need to change the title bro.

I thought the batptize line was quality. But I don't think Fury let himself down in any way, he wants the Americans and Wilder to think he's crazed but we all know the Fury's are a cerebral bunch. It's a great way to sell the fight. Expecting a ton of casuals who have never seen Wilder fight before coming up to me at work now on Monday asking me if I saw the "brawl" with Fury. They've made it a PPV to them already.

I agree.fury did look like some wwe idiot. I understand it was done to hype up a fight but it lacked class. Is that how a world champion behaves? Looked more like a challenger than a champion hoping he gets a shot. He was probably encouraged by an indifferent display from wilder who struggled at times especially with the southpaw stance. But the guy can certainly bang. It is really interesting now as the top guys in the heavyweight division all have vunerabilties which will make for some interesting fights if they happen

I actually thought Deontay seemed shaken up after they went back to him. Looked visibly shaken and was stuttering.

Obviously he didnt have the benefit of 10 pints of lager down his neck like fury lol so that might be something to do with it.

Yes, but as he keeps telling us, Fury's unlike any champion that came before him.
People criticized Muhammad Ali for fighting wrestlers while he was champion, but he was unique and gets a pass.

Real followers of boxing know who the real champion is. Perhaps the Amerians fans want to believe it is Wilder, and Fury knows it is in his interests to play up to that mistaken belief. There's a lot of ££££££ and $$$$$$$$$$ to be made with this.

I'm worrying Fury could be overlooking Klitschko rematch

    It's a future investment.
Of course they have to get past those fights first, but there's no harm in building their rivalry in the public's imagination.

    I really doubt it.
He'll be training for a better Wlad this time, I think Peter Fury understands the need for that too.
Wlad's the toughest contender out there.

Tyson's looking in pretty good shape still, I think he's keeping his weight down between fights now.

Fury seems like he's the challenger desperate for a title not the actual champ, which other multi title champ has ever had to resort to that kind of WWE stunt. One true comment said earlier was everyone is taking his rematch as a formality but I can see a real wake up call if Klit gets it right. I like Fury and is exactly what u needing this division but last night was weird.

A Brit and an American walk into a boxing ring.
Not the American but the Brits antics make you cringe.
Ladies and Gentleman, the cringe shift has brought about the final days of the universe. Say goodbye to your loved ones.

Fury wants to be big in America. Really big. That's the angle.
Yes, he acted like the desperate challenger, you could say. But whatever it takes. Real boxing fans in America know he's the real champion, but the mainstream audience that him and Wilder are appealing to now don't care or know anything about it. The bias will be for the American "champion".
The arena is full of Wilder fans, so Fury plays up to it.
Sure, he could act dignified and aloof, but that's too subtle. Heavyweight boxing isn't what it used to be, 20 years ago. Wladimir acted dignified and champion-like and as the years progressed the Americans didn't want him. Fury's sticking to his silly act and he'll probably become a huge star.

I think a world champion has a responsibility to show some form of decorum and class. A bit of goading and trash talk is fine. But Fury looked and sounded like a wrestler pulled from the crowd to finish off a tag team bout.

I have to say I loved the altercation after the fight, some don't like it because it's a stunt which effectively it is but it sure makes good viewing and will no doubt make this a big fight in the future IF it happens.

I agree with the op tho, Fury was there doing his usual antics but Wilder handles himself really well. He's a good talker, I'm surprised the yanks haven't taken to him more tbh.

Still. I find it hilariously pointless seeing as there's a reasonable chance Wilder or Fury loses those fights...why the rush? Fury's baptism might have to wait after all....
