When Haye first announced his comeback we did not know how much he would weigh. Now we know he is much heavier than the 2012 version I am not sure how Bellew still thinks it is a viable fight I have no doubt Hearn would love it put it on a AJ SBO card because Haye would probably look devastating. Bellew would get a good pay day but this would finish him at the top level.
Bellew is just looking for a big payday that will never come as Bellew isn't even on Hayes radar. He knows there are far bigger fights than that out there for him.
Bellend is after the dollar not pound by even mentioning a fight with Haye let alone doing it. The first round KO he takes would be in any horror movie he might want to star in.
The phrase "a lot of hot air" springs to mind. Tony Bellew is chasing a world title at Cruiserweight, in reality he will probably get the opportunity to fight one of the versions in 2016. Whether he wins is a completely different story. I would be amazed if he fought Haye, especially at a genuine heavyweight (unlimited weight limit). IMO there is more chance of a Bellew - Clevely 3 at catchweight which I'm sure we would all love to see. Lol
Agreed. I can't see Haye boiling down to Cruiser again - he didn't exactly look chubby for this fight. Tony just isn't big enough to take on Haye. Cruiserweight Haye was a beast who would stop Tony handily. Heavyweight Haye would **** him into permanent injury. This is not a fight I want to see.
:good Bellew would probably come in at a flabby 210. He has no business calling out Haye, when he hasn't yet beaten a world-level Cruiserweight. He is just trying to talk his way into a big payday. But, were it to happen, Haye would badly damage Bellew, as has been said. That's the only possible outcome to this theoretical fight.
Currently, Bellew is highly rated with the IBF. I think if Eddie Hearn can get Victor Emilio Ramirez over to the U.K, that may be the route to take for him.
Career-wise has Bellew remotely progressed from where he was when Haye "retired" 3 years ago? Creed aside Bellew has done **** all & the fact he's calling out someone in a higher weight division who's been out for 3 years for a fight he knows will not happen (luckily for him) is as embarrassing as any of the drivel spouted during his many press conference wars. I think this is a truer measure of his career than the imminent undeserved world title shot.
If Stevenson can lay Tony out, Haye might take years off his life. Tony is in a weird spot. Here's why... He's nowhere near good enough to win a title at CW, gets stopped by a guy who has campaigned at SMW, and wants to face arguably the most dangerous punching active HW. He'd have no chance against Haye. Tony is looking for a cash-out, IMO.
