No way I don't see it like that at all. Fury got loads of press for beating Wlad. Before that fight Fury had been a bit under the radar in the public eye, but since that fight he has become huge news!
Fury got alot of negative press after the fight and the establishment doesn't seem to like him. Haye for whatever reason seems to be the media's darling and shat I meant was that all the hype will start again regardless that he beat a guy who had no business being ranked in the top 500 let alone 10.
I don't think Fury cares if he gets good press or bad press as long as people are talking about him then he's doing his job of selling the fight.
Just seen the fight, De Mori was awful. Haye looked ponderous and slow. Fast hands but his feet and general upper body movement looked very poor. I wouldn't be surprised if he's handicapped by the old injuries, limited his movement. And obviously he is old, rusty and carrying too much bulk. Having said that, he might look better if he gets a few fights lined up and shakes off the rust and goes some rounds. Also, he needs to fight someone who's at least good enough to be his sparring partner.
That only would have mattered if he'd been able to land a glove on Haye! FWIW, it looks like a trick of the light to me - Haye's gloves in that white & gold don't stand out against the background like the blue gloves do. You could be right, though.
Haye looked to me significantly slower and awkward, from the very little it lasted I was not impressed at all.
He's a loudmouth. You have to be prepared to play the villain when you carry on like fury has. It's the same exact reason some people don't like mayweather
He's coming off of a long layoff, barely got touched and scored a round one knockout. What more could you ask for?
That bout was a complete waste of time for all concerned. Absolute garbage, the guys a shameless money grabber. I pray that when he does fight Joshua he gets laid out.
Agreed. Obviously he didn't even get out of first gear, and didn't really need to be on the ball for this one, but I agree with you - He could do with losing some of that bulk. He's sacrificed speed for mass, and against the AJ's of this world he'll need as much speed as he can get. Definitely looked a lot lot older.
Haye did look flat footed and slow. Hopefully this was down to him having no respect for De Mori and thinking he could juat walk him down. If it is down to age and injuries then he probably won't get back to the top level as his chin at HW was always suspect and if he no longer has the agility and speed of before he will get hit more. As for De Mori, he was the type of opponent you would expext after such a long lay off. I'm not going to be too critical and say he is the worst healiner ever like some have said. Ultimately, unless you have seen him before against opposition nearer his level then we don't know how good or bad he is. He was in a big areana against a guy far more proven than him and he bottled it and barely threw a punch. This doesn't necessarily make him on par with a bouncer. He just shouldn't be fighting guys of Haye's current caliber.
