Where do you think he'll be in 12 months? I can see him stepping up and taking on somebody like Whyte and building to a name like Scott at the end of the year. I see a big year for him.
He will continue to fight stiff Eastern Europeans and the Fury fans on here will tell us what a beautiful boxer he is for winning boring points decisions. Will be a long time before he fights anyone decent as he has absolutely zero power.
He might need some more national and international fights.. but he should be targeting Wilder and Martin down the line maybe even Chagaev/Ortiz..
No need to rush him. Boring thing to say I know but he is very young still. I think he;ll be good but I'm not convinced by the people saying he'll easily UD Joshua either
the bbboc need to decide who has the english title, mcdermott won it but hasnt defended in years! for what reasons i dont know and why its not been vacated? how about a fight with gary cornish?
I doubt Cornish fancies any of Hughie. Hughie against Dave Allen is good fight for the English Title and easy to make. If Hughie makes it through that I hope he fights fringe Euro contenders, maybe Gerber?
A mate of mine has spared both Hughie and Tyson. I'm sure neither took liberties, but he said he thought Hughie had naturally heavier hands. Although when he told me this it went through my head that Tyson may of held back slightly more than Hughie for whatever reason.
Peter Fury seems serious about getting him in with good opponents this year and says that his power is coming along as he's got his weight right and filled out. Hopefully they can find him someone decent for March but it does seem that he is being avoided. He had about 4 opponents pull out on for his planned fight on the Klitschko card.
