did this review as it not just re freshes us on the boxers but also what promoters are doing a good job or not

    light flyweights 49kg

Zou Shiming - Top rank did a great job with him, he will never be elite but they got him a great trainer and a world title shot and built him up as best they could.

Thomas Essomba - turned pro with small promoter Phil Jeffries and 6 fights in a year and a half a commonwealth champion, looks good too and got him the fight with Waleed Din. Good job so far

Jantony Ortiz- with Cotto promotions I think, about 5 fights in first year all good so far

    flyweight -

Nyambayaryn Tögstsogt - with haymon, elite talent, moving him a bit slowly and don't know why he started at super bantamweight. Needs to get him better fights with someone who can test him

Andrew Selby - 10/10 promotion job so far. starting off at the right weight, 3 fights in 3 months against good opposition well done Sanigar. this is how you start off a fighter with great wsb experience

Rau'shee ****** - very good job very active and got him a world title fight quickly. Only complaint the world title fight was a huge step up and should have been given a higher level opponent to prep, however good job by haymon

    bantamweight -

Luke Campbell - Hearn did a great job milking him but not developing him. He's training team doesn't seem up to scratch and he should have started at a lower weight. however its he's own fault he lost that was a fair step up. Average job by hearn

John Joe Nevin - with some greenblood promotions I think. Had he's own personal problems but im not happy with he's level of competition, only he's debut opponent was a good match rest have been bums . they are doing a poor job, he should also be at a lower weight. He is being active recently but the competition is so poor a boxer like jjn will just pick up bad habits

Joseph Diaz - golden boy doing a great job, he is active as hell and slowly building the competition. young and time on he's hands, they are doing it right

Oscar Valdez - top rank doing a 10/10 job with him. elite talent and avolos already on the resume and he is given he's breakout fight in gradoivich who is made for him. top rank need to pat themselves on the back

Dennis Ceylan - saunerland doing a good job because he is poor still unbeaten and moving up the rankings, their not working with much

    lightweight -

vasyl Lomachenko - okayish job by top rank. got him the world title fight yes, but sent him down to texas to get shafted. then got the fight with russel jr but all the fights since then have been poor, they need to improve

Felix Verdejo - top rank with another 10/10 performance In he's development. doing a great job with him

Jose Ramirez - with goldenboy I think, great job active gradual step up and still young

    light welterweight

Everton Lopes - good job with him moved him fast, struggled to a draw but that will make him learn and he needs to learn at this stage

Jamel Herring - decent job starting to step him up now, I don't think he is great but going about things the right way

Tom Stalker - poor job but you can only work with what you got

2012 Olympic gold LHW medalist, world amateur gold & bronze medalist at HW and LHW respectively, and 2 x European HW champion Egor Mekhontsev is fighting Felipe Romero at the end of this month, the same Felipe Romero Dmitry Bivol flattened in his 4th pro outing. Romero is coming off back-to-back KO defeats :patsch

Top Rank did a horrible job with him. They threw him in there with one of the best in the division so early. Zou looked mediocre beating sub-par opposition. He obviously needed to stay more active and step up his competition before a title shot.
:think Rau´shee got rushed in there with Payano but he schooled the shiiit out of the Dominican; too bad the judges failed to see that.
I hope to see Rau´shee back in the ring soon, i think he might have a bright future.

Since Loma badly outclassed the best guy in his weight class what's next for him?

Russel-Loma was by far the biggest fight at featherweight and it happened. So how can anything measure up to that?

Until he showed that he was ready? They should have stepped up the competition and activity.

Rau'shee was exposed fairly quickly like I thought he'd be, and yes he lost to Payano. Everton looked like absolute s*** in his last match lost and got a gift. Shiming was put in with Ruenroeng way too soon, which is a pity since I hate Ruenroeng and it annoys me seeing him be the man to take down Shiming. Valdez is being built up well, and Hearn dropped the ball with Campbell. Loma wanted too much too soon and Arum should have really tried to get a better ref than Cole, but otherwise they're dong an okay job with him, a hell of a lot better than they have with Mekhontsev, Murata and especially Gvozdyk.

None of them are managed well enough.
I prefer the Japanese model of building a fighter.
Have them fight tough guys so they can learn more about the pros. Forget protecting the '0', get in educational fights.
It's nice to see a small few like Lomachenko, Bivol, Beterbiev go for tough opposition.

It's 2016. Does it take 4 years and poor opposition to learn the pro tricks? I will understand if your style is incredibly amateur, but someone with an incredibly amateur style is never really cut out for the top level in pros anyway.

Most of these guys are carving out Gary Russell Jr-esque careers.

id like to point out this is all subjective. I believe top rank did a good job with shiming because he is old they didn't have time and he will never be a world beater. they got him top class training and great backing and what should have been a winnable title fight if he was half decent

    69kg

Taras Shelesryuk - active 13 fights in 20 months against many different styles and a good step up in comp. 30 years old though they need to get a move on a bit next year, but good job

Custio Clayton - been pro less than a year, had 5 fights decent comp, good job so far

Egidijus Kavaliauskas - 11- 0 pro almost two years good job so far but should be looking to up the comp, seems busy in 2016 already and has a great training team

Oscar Molina - brought along the right way, drew he's last fight but it was a step up and I don't think he is a world beater, good job

Errol Spence - great job, active and had a small step up in competition this year. he is also getting a lot of hype so 2016 needs to be he's break through year

Ryōta Murata - started off brightly with goof competition from the world go but its kind of stalling right now and top rank need to put him in with better fights and be more active, he isn't young after all. He also has a tendency to box to he's opponents level so he will never look spectacular so they need to put him in with better fights, top rank need to do better

Esquiva Falcao - been active since turning pro but needs a step up in competition, top rank need to move him on next year

Anthony Ogogo - injury prone and hasn't stepped up, but not really golden boys fault, he isn't great and constantly injured. Should stick to selling subways, he is the new Tony Jeffries

Ievgen Khytrov - 2 years pro and he's opposition has been good and he is coming along nicely. But he's promoters have dropped the ball with he's training team they are useless and he is regressing, they need a change of personel

Stefen Haertal - very active but cant crack an egg, promoters doing a good job but cant see him doing much

Vijender Singh - 3-0 so far and not a great talent. but frank will do well with him and make them both money

Terrell Gausha - 17-0 after 3 years and no real step up. I don't think he's promoters have much faith in him after almost getting ko'ed by a bum. I think they are going done the easy route to a world title and cashing out, might be the best option as he isn't great

    81kg

Egor Mekhontsev - top rank are doing a terrible job, two years in and no step up and fighting Dmitri bivols left overs. he isn't young either, top rank should be pretty ashamed of how poorly they are promoting him

Oleksandr Govsyk - top rank are doing an even worse job with him than Egor. The guy has like a 12-0 wsb record where he faced some very good fighters including the former apb world champion. since turning pro for the last two years he has faced worse opponents than in the wsb, he should have been fast tracked probably faster than beterbiev given he's wsb experience . Top rank are seriously dropping the ball but at least he has an excellent training team

Yamaguchi Falcao - 9-0 seems to be fighting deccent comp, hopefully a step up in 2015

Damien Hooper - hard one to judge , he got sparked out by a bum and hasn't been in the rind for the last 8 months. not blaming he's promoters the boys trouble and not really going anywhere

Marcus Browne - promoters doing a great job as I don't think he is great and he was top 10 by the ring from careful match making. They got campillo right after beterbiev made him a shot journeyman and he still got credit for some reason. 2016 will be a testing year for him

Enrico Kolling- promoters seemed to be building a record not a fighter and it showed when he lost with the small step up in competition. not sure how good he is anyway though

Carlos Gongora - 4-0 already fought one decent journeyman, so far so good
