After watching the first seven rounds of Guerrero-Garcia

I watched a fight once were one of the commentators was explaining the computer punch stats and he said that when boxers clinch and they throw those ineffective punches to the side of the body with no meat behind them that you often see in a clinch just before the ref breaks them, those punches are counted as punches thrown and landed on the computer punch stats.

I think that sums up how misleading punch stats can be.

 

Damn, some people dksab. No way Guerrero won that fight, he was hitting nothing but gloves all night. Some of you need people need to get a high-definition tv. I had Garcia winning 9 rounds to 3. Guerrero straight up got a beat down.

 

Posts like this are why I have hard time frequenting message boards anymore, the stupidity is mind bending. Guerrero did not come close to winning this fight. The only thing we saw was another biased boxer (Thurman) swaying public opinion to make his win over Guerrero better. Same old song and dance people fall for every time but I have a cure ...learn to score yourself. I mean, you are hard core fans aren't you? It's about time you learned to score all by yourselves like big boys.

Punch stats alone had Garcia out landing 163 to Guerrero 108 and that's not even mentioning Garcia also landed the much harder shots. This fight actually approached a pummeling by Garcia, and the only disappointment is that we did not see a KO like we should've because Garcia could've had one it was so lopsided. Oh, and Floyd fought Guerrero also, I bet he was hoping to rematch him for his 50th.

The Ghost fought his ass off but he doesn't fight a winning fight. Like stated, he smothers both fighters almost every minute of the fight.

He needs to be a step back from where he is at all times, he can't put anything on any shots except the uppercut which is the most dangerous punch.

The reason competitive rounds agains him is because he is smothering everything. His father doesn't have a clue what he's doing. Robert made it this far on toughness and relentlessly attacking but he needs to back off and try to land within his own power range.

I don't think he actually thinks at all in the ring.. whole new corner is needed immediately if he wants to continue and not become a vegetable

 

This is what I'm saying, after pac****s pretended he won vs mayweather, now every fight is a robbery so now fighters are using this as an excuse to keep them relevant. Garcia, and he should not listen to these idiots and move on. No rematches. The scores were more than fair.

Once Garcia settled down and started to land that right hand with impunity I figured even the most delusional dksab would be able to see Garcia winning rounds clearly but that's not the case.

 

It was very close. that unofficial card was a joke. guerro won the first half and Garcia won the second half essentially.

 

In his younger days in the lower weights, Guerrero actually boxed well. As he has moved up in weight he has foregone those traditional skills in favour of being a "warrior".

These days, he strikes me as the type of fighter who would rather lose showing heart, than win showing skill.

 

nah garcia did an amazing job of turning the fight around. I had him losing the first 4 or 5 rounds but after that he really took over.

 

Mora was shocking in every fight, talked utter *******s and contradicted himself throughout.

 

I seem to be in the minority but I had it to Garcia quite wide 9-3/8-4.

I thought Guerrero was sloppy and whilst he wax busy it wasn't effective, whereas Garcia was the better pucker and picked his shots well.

That's the thing about boxing, you can take ANY decision, and you will have discussion on both sides, I've learned that over the years. I don't personally see how Guerrero could have POSSIBLY won more than 3 rounds, it looked like a pro vs. a novice to me, but lots of people here say he won. It was like Paquiao - Bradley I, again I saw Paquiao winning 10 rounds, but there is non-stop back and forth discussion.

Or Maidana - Mayweather I, again, I had it 9-3 Mayweather and don't see how anyone who has ever watched a fight, much less a professional judge, could have given Maidana the nod, but they did...
