How much is it to train at the Wild Card Gym? $5 a day? For everyone? Something like that. And you can spar with the best fighters in the world.

Most boxers ARE NOT paying their "teams" 50 percent of their purses.

Angelo Dundee quit Leonard's camp because he wanted more money. Leonard was paying him a flat rate, regardless of whether he was making $100,000 or $10 million. Tyson went thru a host of trainers because, after Rooney, he wouldn't pay much for them.

Muhammad Ali notoriously made about 30 percent of his purses ... but he gave HALF of his purse to the nation of Islam right off the top, and he had an entourage of close to 20 people who would travel with him and they all lived for weeks (or up to a month) and exotic locales where he fought, and he had a full-time staff at his training camp.

Sergei Kovalev is one boxer who seems to have a bad deal. Based on published figures, he seems to be getting robbed by Kathi Duva and is only making a quarter of his purse. That may have been due to the language barrier when he first signed with her and she just took advantage of him.

Most fighters get the largest cut of their purses if they have a remotely decent deal with the people "they employ."

Roberto Guerrero isn't paying anyone half his purses. His team is basically him and his dad. Same with Garcia. There isn't much overhead on those teams. There aren't 30 guys walking to the ring with them. They aren't flying people in to spar.

 

That's a sh_tload of money.
