Roseis no cup-cake. If Im not mis-remembering didnt he beat the tough Argie Maciel - pretty comfortably as I recall (despite myths that Maciel really won that fight - he didnt.).
Not signed yet but looks like will officially announced next week http://www.irish-boxing.com/matt-macklin-fight-brian-rose-april-9th-sky-ppv/
If Macklin is making a living away from fighting, i cannot understand why he's risking his health by continuing to try and prove himself. He was fringe World level, and involved in some exciting fights, but his best days are years behind him. Pointless match up imo.
Exactly this! Eddie is just seeing which one he can pump a few quid out of and which one he can't! I think Rose will win, unless Macklin breaks one of his ribs :hey
why is this fight in London way down on a ppv card, surely this should be in bham. Macklin still has enough for Rose I think, if carson jones can put rose on jelly legs Macklin can.
Good question. I think it just forms part of Eddie Hearn's stacked card business model. Looking over the last few PPV shows there have been some other fights with absolutely no relevance to London (Bad Intentions and Rule Britannia shows) and Liverpool (Repeat or Revenge show).
Thing is most people will buy tickets for the AJ fight, no1 really gives a shyte about this fight who's in attendance, very few (apart from admittedly me cos I like macklin) would purchase the PPV because this happens to be on the undercard. The bham card on the 5th of march looks poor at present, eggington vs skeete is an interesting fight but hardly worth paying £40quid for, add mackin vs rose to that and its a half decent card with the yafais.
