You seem to have a problem with me giving friendly advice. This lack of confidence you show is a typical Irish trait - I think its a self-esteem problem. Its what makes us a nation of 'knockers' and begrudgers. Easier to be the 'hurler-on-the-ditch' the back seat driver, the knocker. We are all boxing fans on here - presumably at any rate!. We all like and admire boxers for their courage and in most cases their genuine decency as human beings - if thats not too corny. In the decades that I have followed boxing, many decent admirable boxers have come and gone. Unknown and under-appreciated. Most are soon forgotten - and have little to show for their efforts. Why not "crowd-fund" Lukes career with shared knowledge? Why not suggest some advice to the guy? Its not about "being delusional" or being a "no-mark" as your negative-thinking brain seems programmed to think. I'm sure every second gob****e Luke meets has all the answers in terms of advice (including me). But so what? You have to mine tons of rubble for every nugget of gold. Luke is smart enough to separate the rubble from the gold! Who knows who might come up with some useable wisdom for the guy? If even 1% is useful ....... So lighten up, don't be such a knocker - and have a bit more confidence in yourself.
your calling me a knocker and begruder? I think you are describing yourself len, because that's all you do especially to andy lee. iv never knocked an irish boxer on this forum and i did offer luke advice which you would offer any boxer so i don't have a self esteem problem. however im not going to suggest that he becomes a wwe act like you to earn money when it would be him not being himself. Why don't you suggest he goes out and bashes a few hom.***uals while your at it and make ridiculous comments, it would make him more well known? worked for fury len calling someone a knocker is rich, you continuous knocking of andy lee was pathetic you also criticized lukes nickname when you didn't know its backround and that its a relatively well used boxing nickname
Fine if you like the nickname Luke. My point about nicknames was about being a bit more bloody-minded commercially if you want to go that way. Its not about what you like - its about what makes money. Sorry to be so blunt - no offence meant at all. For example take two of your peers - Felix Sturm and Quigley. Sturm - the Mr Corporate Guy of middleweights , has gone through several nicknames "Leonidas" and "The Fighter" are just two! Quigley has some Spanish nickname (I think). Very smart in terms of marketing himself in the States where the Hispanic market is huge. - you mentioned "crossover appeal" yourself. Anyway the very best of luck Luke. Keep the posts coming. :thumbsup
This content is protected I DID know where it came from. Boxing isn't the only thing I know more about than you! Now go work on that self-esteem problem. I'm off to bed!
u do know I'm not the only person who believes and aspires to this.... well the only helpful advice I could give him is not to eat yellow snow:scaredas::good
You were a bit too quick calling me a tit, Fra. Thats what annoyed me. All I did was give some friendly advice...... Now expalinto me what you mean about yellow snow???? :huh :huh
atsch Beam me up Scottie! I NEVER said boxers dont use it. I was talking purely in terms of marketability. What I am saying is that is isn't a great nickname in terms of marketability. That's if marketability is your priority. Maybe something 'punchier' would be better. Stand out more. "ko" Keeler??? "killer" Keeler?? But if the guy says he likes his nickname and is in no hurry to change, thats fine too..... w
when it snowed when I was younger and playing in it.... my ma use to tell me don't be eating the yellow snow... it always stood by me:good
That's right - and I stand by that - I don't think its really a great boxing nickname for marketability purposes. But he said himself that he is happy with it so thats' it. (I see from all the abuse you're dishing out that you still haven't dealt with your little self-esteem problem ...tut tut )
I think what she might have meant was that the yellow snow might be where your friends or a dog had pee'd, Fra. So in a way it was good advice!
