Watching tonight, it made me more confident that Ward would have his way with Kovalev

I really don't see how Ward can outjab Kovalev, close the distance and smother him or time him

I just cannot envision any way that Ward can win this fight.

Kovalev is so strong on the inside, he pounds the body HARD in the clinch, he expertly pounds the back/side of the head when the opponent hunches forward in a sad attempt to bow out, and he punches so hard at mid distance. Even his jab is brutal.

He just cuts off the ring extremely well......

This fight would be a beating and it doesn't even need to happen. Ward should pursue gonzalez, barrera and degale.

Kovalev is not more skilled than Ward. Skill wise GGG=Ward but both > Kovalev, in terms of power Kovalev is more powerful than both.

Without bias, there is high probability that Kovalev will win by KO, if not Ward by points.

Ward UD. Kovalev's too wide (open) with his punches.

Kov is quicker , a better boxer , bigger and hits harder.

Even the dirty tactics wont work.

Ward will call out Kov but ask for 10 million , pricing himself out whilst still looking like he wants the fight.

This isn't Froch or the cripple Kessler.

Kov is going to patiently outbox him and then knock him out.

People really giving Ward no chance here?? I see a lot of people eating crow in November. Actually - half the people backing Kovalev will complain and dismiss the defeat and the other hAlf will open new accounts.

To me its a close fight, but to the people who give ward 0% chance...

Are you for real, or do you just not like him as a fighter?

I am having trouble calling this fight if truth be told. For me Kovalevs level of competition has not been great enough to think he will walk through Ward. I know Ward has been inactive and faced poor opposition on his return, but assuming he is near his old level it should be a close fight.

I would put Ward as a better boxer with more tricks, which cancels out Kovalevs power and size.

I actually cant call it, which is why i think its such a great fight on paper.

Fair enough having a strong opinion that Kovalev will win, but saying things like he will finish Ward in 5 rounds makes me think there is some bias there.

This is arguably one of the biggest fights in boxing right now. I think Andre is a sensational boxer, but it's hard to assess his chances against Sergey until we see how Ward fares against some competition at LHW. Barrera will be a good litmus test for him and a dangerous opponent for his initial bout at the weight. It'll be interesting to see how well he can take a flush shot from a full size 175 lber.
