We'll just have to agree to disagree for the most part, except yes, I absolutely think Pulev would have done better against VK than Vitali. But I think Vitali's cuts problems were overstated, only came out against Lewis, who is a fierce hitter, and who Vitali was in a war with. Vitali would be more cautious, and also Pulev simply lacks the power to really cut him up, and Pulev would be greatly outlanded by VK. Pulev was never much of a volume thrower.

But I also think this is a missing link in his resume (i.e., tall reachy, high level jabber), it's too bad he didn't face Pulev before he retired. You have some legitimate points.

I would say this, Vitali's cuts problems is overrated in lack of perspective. If you threw in say Larry Holmes as an replacer for Pulev, Vitali would just have to run over him.

Wadimir Klitschkos cut problematic is very underrated due, but the picture's getting clearer now after the Fury-fight for everybody to see. You don't need to win the rounds against a Klitschko to cut them. Just land enough jabs - much easier said then done - only a few chosen ones have the required tools for the job to be done.

Pulev's jabs is no pitypatting, I would say after Wlad and Fury, he has the third best jab in the division. His jabs obviously hits sharp and hard enough to tear up any face, especially a Klitschko-face.

    ...

But you aslo need power, toughness and strength to beat Vitali. Pulev could back him up in the clinch, just like he did against Wladimir - And I would say the brothers are about equally strong, but Vitali has an advantage in Stamina due - mostly based on psychological factrors (but that's another story)

Pulev could risk to trade more punches with Vitali than Wladimir, because of Vitali's lack of gamebreaking shots from either hand at any given moment - something Wladimir possesses all the time in a fight. In other words: Pulev wouldn't look as stiff against Vitali.

Vitali's defense isn't built to face Pulev's jab. And his toughness would be nullified in the clinch by Pulev's counter-toughness. Even if it's only a balance of say 55-45 it would still be enough.

Pulev weighted in at 247 pounds against Klitschko. And Vitali weighted in at 248 pounds against Lewis. So it's no magic there either.

Vitali possesses the performance that trumps Wlad's entire body of work:

He got stopped by LL in a really good, competitive brawl that LL retired from rather than repeat.

That loss is better than anything Wlad ever did.

    Sorry TF.
