All the hate at GGG, ward and kovalev is making me sick. Just enjoy these guys. We have 3 great fighters.GGG will take everyone out between 154 and 168 and ward will also beat everyone at 168 and 175 and kovalev will beat everyone at 175. of course if these 3 will fight each other, someone will lose. So just enjoy the Talent of the guys. GGG is one of the most entertaining fighters with an unbelievable skillset of boxing IQ, power, stamina, old school Tricks and chin. Ward is A boxing wizzard who is frustrating to watch and difficult to bargain. But he is great Kovalev is the meanest MF we have Seen in boxing in A long time who is extremly heavy handed and also A great boxer. So just enjoy them. My pick if they fight: Ggg vs ward at 168 is 50/50 Ward vs kovalev at 175 is 40/60
All mostly true, only little problem I have is with putting ward with those 2. Ggg and Kovalev are true beast with unbelievable skills while ward isn't feel has very good skills but isn't on their level. I would see it the following way, ggg vs ward 160/68/175, ggg beats him at all. Brutalized him around 160 tk/o's him at 169/75. All on everyday of the week type things. Kovalev v ward 168 all depends if kovalev can make 168 and still be effective, that's a 50/50 at 175 kovalev khtfo on everyday of the week. Ggg v kovalev are 160 ggg demolishes him at 168 ggg wins a bad beatings ud and at 175 it's a 50/50 toss up fight. Imho, that means no one could change my mind. Only thing that makes it different is the fights themselves, which will all be in the history books by the end of 2020
Ward's an excellent fighter but really frustrating with his inactivity. 2011 Fighter of the Year, dominates Chad Dawson in 2012, and since then he's fought just twice against overmatched opposition. Although he's not the most fan friendly fighter to watch, I like the fact that he's well schooled, well-rounded, and can fight in different styles and at different distances. Given how much of his prime he's wasted, I'm really hoping for the Kovalev fight as that may be the best matchup to be made in boxing. People that just blindly defend fighters no matter what, and especially "fans" who care more about their man-crushes than the sport itself are the worst.
There is nothing to enjoy about Andre Ward he's had 2 fights in 3 years and is now looking to delay even further
All very good fighters that we are lucky to have its the obsessed fan boys that make it a hard topic to talk about.
Enjoy the talent of three world-class fighters without hating on them? I assume you're new to this forum?
I agree..but depending on the opponent Ward can be a chore to watch, so I usually don't enjoy watching him, I can appreciate the skill though.
I don't hate GGG, I'm just challenging him like any other fighter gets challenged. If he wants to be great, and he has been crowned as great by his fans, then he has to fight somebody good. Him being ducked or not, no excuses, as none are given to most other fighters. There's no law that a fighter has to stay in one weight class. If he beats a good fighter then that helps his cause against the other belt holders instead of being in the position of being leveraged because of the desperation to fight somebody good. HBO marketing can only take him so far. Kovalev, I don't like, but I respect, and that's all that you need really from folks. Ward, what I like about him best is that he knows exactly what he needs to do at any given moment and has the skills to do it all. Taking rounds from him is going to be difficult, basically got to hurt him (and make him stop punching) to do it.
Ward I find frustrating because he's potential ATG talent who seems to be wasting his talent because he's difficult to work with. If Kovalev-Ward materialises it will be a sight to behold.
GGG currently is unbeatable @ 160 lbs. and NO ONE wants to fight him. GGG's also nearly unbeatable at 168 lbs. IMO... I don't think GGG's frame is big enough to be effective at 175 lbs. Kovalev is todays Mike Tyson... a pure beast in the ring. Ward was excellent but that was a couple of years ago. No way to know what skills remain after the long layoff.
