what a match up!!!! They could have probably fought once every 2 weeks for 6 months over 15 rounds an still ended up even. With over 500 fights between them inactivity wasnt going to happen. Two legends of the ring, durable, fast punching and ring savvy, out of national loyalty I'm going with mendaloff.
Turpin pretty much took the words out of my mouth. Very even matchup. Zivic is so underrated today. I have a ton of radio broadcasts of his fights and its incredible the respect other fighters had for him and just how close a lot of his losses were. A lot of those losses on his record that are used to kind of dismiss him today really could have gone either way. Robinson called him the smartest fighter he ever faced and said he learned more from him than anyone else. Lewis was very impressive as well and arguably the greatest fighter p4p that ever came out of england. This would be an excellant and evenly contested fight or series.
Yeesh, can i just predict roughness and pain for this one I do think Zivic would do better than Lewis on the outside but I think a lot of this fight would happen in close and be very rough, uppercuts galore If I had to favor someone itd be Zivic
I wouldn't bet against Zivic, who is another fighter I've been a fan of for years.both stepped up in weight without fear, both could box, both could fight. Zivic wasn't known as the professor for nowt and Lewis was a well respected ex world, European, British and Empire. Champion. Lewis had his first fight as a child and was paid a tanner (6d or 2 1/2p) and a penny back for the cup of coffee he had. Lewis went down the streets of Aldgate as a champion and scattered pennies to the kids on the streets where he'd come from. I've no doubt the Croat Comet did something similar
:good I bet he did...good post. On this fight I've no idea, would lean slightly towards Zivic I guess.
