I think Brook needs to get away from Hearn and fight in the states. Fast car is very good at making domestic fights but terrible at bringing over names.

    Agreed. :good

It's a weird one. Because when Eddie brings over a name, HE BRINGS OVER A NAME and the fights tend to be very memorable (Kessler/Froch II, Froch/Bute) but he seem's too reluctant to do more of that.

Probably because it's easier for him to make the domestic fights because everything's either in-house or easier to make (geographically speaking).

But his model is wearing thin now, and can only be taken up to a point.

AJ is at a crossroads with what to do next. World title shot or keep learning?

Kell either has to go abroad and get the big fights or become the biggest laughing stock we've had by staying at home.

Callum Smith. What does he do if he doesn't get George Groves?

Selby has gone, Degale has gone...

Joshua is locked into a contract with Hearn which prevents him from doing his own thing like Lewis did in the 90s and early 00s (where he boxed on both small cable channels and the BBC).

The "away" UK fighter in negotiations with Hearn has a very strong hand- I hear Chisora asked for a near 50/50 split with Joshua which sounds crazy but Dereck/the Sauerlands know Hearn needed a name to fill that PPV slot.

Hearn aside from his broadcasting contract and actual stable isn't in the best place right now. He needs to step up his matchmaking skills.

    Agreed.

You can't rely on making world class fights with domestic fighters. That's a risky strategy!

I know I'm going to get people say I'm a brook hater but I'm not.

Brook has serious talent, that there is no doubt, but this obsession with Khan is not doing his career any good what so ever. He's almost chasing the fight similar to khan chasing Floyd.

Why doesn't brook forget khan, go on and smash a really good top 10 fighter, which to be honest he hasn't done. Porter was a good win but he isn't world class.

If brook did that and then said to Khan fight me and Khan didn't do it, then that is a duck. But I think Khan is perfectly in his rights not to fight brook as he wants a big name. Canelo is a bigger name then Brook fact.

I think Brook v Khan will happen so we all need to relax lol

Top 10? Porter is a top 10 fighter even if you include LMWs. Only Thurman and Bradley are above Porter at welter (Not including Pac as he is supposedly retiring after Bradley).

I've listed 10 fighters, if Brook had fought any of these his CV would look a lot better.

    KEITH THURMAN
    DANNY GARCIA
    TIM BRADLEY
    LAMONT PETERSON
    SHANE MOSLEY
    DEVON ALEXANDER
    ROBERT GUERRO
    MARCOS MAIDANA
    JUAN MANUEL MARQUEZ
MIGUEL COTTO - if you want to include LM

Simple fact is, if Khan loses the fight is nit big at all, if he wins against canelo it is even bigger than we all thought.

Outside his hometown Brook is a nobody.

Despite being world champion for over a year and a half, despite a couple world title defences his record is appalling.

Yes i accept Khan ducked the Brook fight but putting that aside his career has only 1 decent win on it.

He only gets a pass on here because khan is hated on so much.

Maidana has as good as retired
Mosley must be a joke, Liam smith got ridiculed when people mentioned Mosley for him
Alexander has lost 3 of his last 4 including to Porter
Peterson hasn't done anything at welter
Marquez is 42 and hasn't boxed in 18 months, would probably only comeback for Cotto

I don't see how half of those names are a better win than Porter. Don't get me wrong, Brook's CV is abysmal for a world champion but you can't say that Porter win wasn't world class.

Khan nailed it in the latest BN when he said he is fighting the Canelo's of this world and Kell is fighting the Jo-Jo Dan's and Briezer's of this world.

Kell should go for Cotto or move up and face BJS.

The thing with Kell is that he is content with waiting for the Khan fight. Bad move. As one of these days his mandatory won't be a pushover, it'll be a legit threat, and if the Khan fight hasn't be mad eby then then it could go up in smoke.

And his resume revolves around Shawn Porter. If Thurman stops Porter next, Kell's resume at the world level is done.

Does anyone else think that Kell is talk and doesn't want the big names?

Khan can afford a loss against Canelo as that's what everyone is expecting to happen. The fight with Kell would still be massive.

I don't think he's saying those guys would be better wins than Porter. I think he's saying that having another name (such as the guys he listed) on his resume would make it look better.
