Quigg will only have Gallagher & Hearn to blame...

Gonzalez had Guerfi down in the first and hurt.

Also he injured his right hand badly early in the fight which was a massive turning point.

Frampton took a shocking amount of low blows against Gonzalez, it was by his own standards a poor performance but he heavily outlanded his opponent and still won 10/12 rounds.

The "belt shot" as you called it was a low blow as testified by the TV replays.

As for Kiko, Frampton already stopped him with one punch in the first fight and battered him for 12 rounds in the second fight before Quigg got near him.

I wouldn't knock the Quigg performance but a bit of perspective is needed.

The Belt Shot if low, dropped Frampton like a sack of s**t, and if it was as low as made out, how was he able to continue immediately ?

Go rewatch the first Kiko fight and see how many low blows Frampton hit Kiko with.

Munroe had already beaten Kiko, and Quigg demolished Munroe with body shots.

Frampton had nine hard rounds with Kiko, and had lost most of the early rounds. He was hurt numerous times, and staggering about like a drunk for the last minute of the previous round, before landing the finishing punch in the ninth.

You could argue that he stopped a tired and fading Kiko, whereas Quigg demolished a fresh and focussed Kiko.

Trouble with the common opponent triangulation is, that you can go round and around in circles forever.

Do you genuinely believe that Frampton softened Kiko up for Quigg ?

So TS the Belt Shot wasn't a belt shot. ;)

Kiko hurt Frampton? Of course he did. Kiko is a big puncher, he's flattened many a fighter. He's a limited boxer but a dangerous puncher.

He was on the run of his life and full of confidence going into the second Frampton fight, he was never going to relinquish his title easy.

As good as the Quigg performance was it didn't really show us much about him we didn't already know.

He's only fought 4 minutes in 15 months, not great preparation.

Both Quigg and Framptons resumes are similar though I just think Carl had shown us more wrinkles to his game, has proved he can take a shot (maybe too often) and definitely can deliver KO's with both hands. Also he can definitely move and use the ring better than Quigg.

Quigg will have height and reach advantage in this fight, style wise taller rangey fighters have gave Frampton problems ie Turley and Gonzalez, could be a cr*cker!

Really can't call this. Kinda want Frampton to win, but my head is saying Quigg will take it. I don't know, proper 50/50 fight imo.

    :deal Brilliant post! :thumbsup

Sadly Gonzalez might be one of those fighters who hits harder than his hands can take. Be a shame if his career is ruined by hand trouble.

I think they are both pretty even skill wise, Frampton is maybe a bit quicker Quigg a bit bigger.

Neither are massively special but I go Quigg , who I think holds a punch that bit better.

Ive got the feeling that Frampton is a touch fragile around the whiskers.

Anyhow its all good for British boxing.

If anything its Quigg who I feel has the average-to-dodgy chin. Frampton deffo has a great chin - how anyone can say otherwise is baffling to me.

I did. Poor start, but regrouped brilliantly and put on a boxing clinic. Very impressive.
Pathetic that Quigg fans are clutching at straws. That first round is completely irrelevant - as is round 2 of Kiko-Quigg.
Just shows what little Quigg fans have to go on. Sad really.
