Terrific fighter indeed. At best he's a poor man's Floyd Mayweather though (and the cocaine-addled version of Dejesus probably isn't even that).
He used coke his entire career. The losses to Duran was during his best run of wins. A poor man's Floyd? Again, you don't seem to understand what you are seeing,
That was a compliment. If you think that Dejesus compares favorably to Mayweather you're either living in a fantasy world or you just don't know much about Floyd Mayweather.
I love the go to elitest line on this forum, which is some variation of, "if you believe (insert opinion) then you don't understand what you are seeing."
Your description was off in general. Dejesus was more like a short Ezzaed Charles. In terms of mechanics and ability, he absolutely stacks up to the all time greats but lacked the frame to successfully move up in weight.
Oh, ok-- I didn't mean the "poor man's" description literally. My point was merely that Dejesus was a quality fighter but significantly less skilled and physically talented than Mayweather.
Not significantly less skilled, He was physically different and had different qualities. He was usually the smaller man even at light weight, and developed a style where he was elusive and mobile but also could move into range, get under punches, and score with his own combinations. Now Viruet is physical the same as Mayweather with long arms at 5'8" listing and natural athleticism, fantastic defensive skills with a conservative mistake free offense from range. The difference is he would go into pure spoiler mode and try to survive instead of actively win. Mayweather would still look to counter and control the fight.
No. Mayweather and Robinson have almost nothing in common except their love for money and spending it.
