Great point regarding Brian Hughes, and no mention of Gerry Storey who trained Frampton and the young Barry McGuigan.

I don't see anything disrespectful from Frampton or Quigg to each other really but when you look at egos on both sides it's unbearable.

Barry saying that boxing is a "forensic science" not sure what he means by that but then talks about Shane's knowledge etc even though he has no qualifications! You can half forgive Barry as he has achieved something but what has Shane done?? Lost my respect for Barry when he embarrassed himself with the whole Flintoff thing.

On the other side you have Hearn who is arrogant and obnoxious. He cares only about making money and will say or do anything which he thinks will sell a few more PPVs to the general public. The you have Joe. Joe is what Joe is & just loves it. "Records are for DJs" then wears a tshirt with the number of wins on!! Everyone round boxing round Manchester knows what Joe is and what he is like.

I think the boxers are far more respectful than the unliveable types they surround themselves with

Why did you "lose your respect for Barry" exactly?

Gallagher made a point of bringing up Gerry storey when they were in Belfast, doubt he'd have taken kindly to someone bringing up Brian Hughes though

The whole documentary about the preparation for the Flintoff fight and how he was going to be a great fighter who could have a great career. Gets a higher billing on MEN event than many proper professional boxers will ever achieve. Barry sold that fight as a genuine fight, knowin full well what it actually was, and then once Flintoff got hit the other guy stopped throwing punches for some reason.

He showed a lack of integrity about the whole thing and for me really tarnished what he had achieved through out a cracking professional career.

IMO boxing isn't a celebrity pass time. Just thought Barry would have more integrity and greater respect for the sport and its fans

Even if what you say about the Flintoff affair is true aren't you over reacting just a little bit. Every dog is entitled to one bite, they say. You don't just jettison all of Barry's life achievement cos of one celebrity episode ....come on jab.....

Agree with you about the other side in this fight though. :thumbsup

Come on. The Frampton work is fine, but the other two have only dragged their ****s to him because he's based just down the road :patsch

    Yeah right.

Suppose the same could be said for the Liverpool lads who only had to travel 30 odd miles to Manchester when Joe was there forever, right?

If Gallagher was in London, Haye and Groves would be trained by him right now. It's just the way it is.

Yeah, a HW with WORLD CLASS head movement teaming up with a trainer who can't teach defence? Sure.
