Absolutely! The HOF weekend is like the "big event" for the IBHOF, and they typically only have a few thousand fans in attendance.

Someone like Froch is likely to bring some crazy die hards in from across the pond.

Froch will be a shoe-in, and deservedly so based on the Hall's standards.

Froch should get in for the same reason Gatti did. Win or lose they entertain and never take a step back. At the end of the day they risk there lives in an entertainment industry and as good as Ward is and how well he beat Froch he has the personality of a plank of wood and watching him fight is like pulling teeth. Ijust wish they could tempt Carl for one last fight well he still can and get him in with GGG. Sparks would fly and a ppv winner all day long but we can dream.

I think people just became infatuated with his undefeated record.

The Kessler win was very good, but he had a lot of trouble in that fight.

The Lacy performance was very good, but how good was Lacy?
Calzaghe had been pro for years and had approx 40 fights, whereas Lacy had only 20 or something.

It was a springboard type of victory, meant to launch him into the big leagues and big fights. Instead we got Tocker Pudwill and Charles Brewer.

His whole career is a farce.

And if you pay a little visit to youtube, watch 'Calzaghe KO Specialist' and see for yourself the 'greatness' on display.

His fans claim he was a much better fighter before he hurt his hands. I always ask this question (and never get an answer), when did Calzaghe damage his hands?

Out of 46 fights, Calzaghe only scored 2 genuine KOs.

The rest were TKO stoppages of some sort (the British TKO sort).

Was Cotto EVER the man at MW?
    Canelo?

Was Chichenson ever the MAN at LHW?

Lineal means jack shiit unless they have established themselves vs the top contenders available, and regularly.

Froch, even losing to Ward was considered the MAN when he turned around and beat Bute.

FUKK the LINEAL unless you've beaten the man who is indeed the MAN at that weight.

And don't say chickkenson was either.....he beat a badly faded Glass Jawson, who'd been KTFO in his previous fight.:-(

HoF doesn't mean u need to be the best, lots of HoFers weren't the best.

HoF, moreover, is a traditionally a tier below ATG - suggesting you don't need to be one of the best to achieve it.

    :good

Except, in this case, Froch is a top 10 ATG at SMW, and a top 200 p4p ATG.

He's in good company to say the least. :thumbsup

default for having the longest reign at SMW -this makes him historically noteworthy.

To be fair, remaining in a new division such as 90s SMW is a sign of avoiding tough challenges in traditional divisions - joe hold the record for doing this the longest for sure, and with the least recognised title to boot.

Joey as true to his words, he didn't want tough fights.

I don't particularly like Froch on account of him being a narcissistic prat, but there is no question he deserves a place in the HOF.

I always thought he achieved a hell of a lot with a very limited skill set. He won a lot of fights with heart, conditioning and great punch resistance. Vey admirable traits in a fighter.

I would be surprised if he doesn't get the nod.

lol Cotto had a belt in four different weight divisions. "lineal" doesn't mean jack to you because it doesn't suit your agenda. I assume you mean Stevenson. I don't think he should get in either based on his current resume but he is currently the "man" at lightheavy whether you like it or not. Froch would fight anyone and he did hold a couple of belts in one division. However, like I said before, he never was the man in that one division and when he did have a chance to become the man, he got his butt kicked. Good fighter no doubt and maybe that's enough to get in nowadays.
