Lewis > Bowe. You could make a case I guess, for Bowe having more natural talent, but in the end it's what you do with it.

I think Bowe looked really good. I mean, he had all the classic moves. But he rarely put it all together at once.

Lewis looked a bit more scruffy and sometimes even clumsy, even late in his career, but he put what he had together and became seasoned and showed ring generalship.

I will add that the stoppage in the Olympics was bullshlt! People blow that way out of proportion. It was basically an even fight, a pretty good fight for an amateur fight, prior to the surprise stoppage.

Cooper and Moorer floored Holyfield. Stewart shook him up badly. Bowe reckt him. Ruiz floored him again straight after he fought Lewis.

Why was Lewis unable to even hurt him in 24 rounds of boxing? A well past it Holyfield at that . Unlike the fierce version he was in his prime who those guys fought. And to make matters worse Lewis was strapped up in amour so he didn't have to worry about any incoming body shots.
He could put all defensive focus up top , so not have to defend a Holy body shot which would have left him open.

He fought behind a wall because he didn't trust his own ability against the shell of a guy Bowe beat and stopped in his prime. And would've won the rematch if it wasn't for fan man.

Being that fearful of an aged Holyfield further proves why he wanted no part of Bowe - when he himself at the time was much , much inferior to what he was in 2009. And when Bowe was pretty much the perfect package.

Bowe >>> Lewis. All day. All night.

I agree. Bowe seemed to have more tools but seemed to be his own worst enemy. Lewis seemed on the other hand to very sharp in and out of the ring. I never expected him to end up broke.

Lewis was far more accomplished. They barely belong in the same discussion.

For all of Bowe's physical talent and skills, he had a horrible work ethic and barely existant ring IQ. For all his potentional, his career was a dud. He could have been the greatest.

Lewis was smart and always in shape, that goes a long way. Vastly superior career to Bowe.

I don't know. Bowe definitely had quality skills, but he got hit a bit too often to call him a great technician. I suppose if we compere the early 90's renditions of Bowe and Lewis, then Riddlck comes out looking a bit better. But the improved Lewis from 1995 onward looked better to me.

Lewis was well up for it. Bowe's people did n't want their man anywhere near him.

Yes. A lot of Lennox' faults got ironed out after joining Manny Steward.

I'm a huge Bowe fan but its very hard to argue for him over Lewis...

I agree , when Bowe comes in shape an prepared he could probably stack up against any HW in history

But so could Lewis ...and Lewis KOd Bowe in amatures , and Bowe ducked Lewis in the pros

So the only reason we'll never know for sure is all on Bowe
