Just about everything you say Bowe has on Lewis, you're wrong. Lewis is better in all those categories. :blood

Bowe was the smoother, more co-ordinated guy. His infighting is the best for a big man I have ever seen. Inside, Lewis had a big uppercut but Bowe overall was in a different class inside.

But Lewis understood the outside game better than Bowe did, and I think Bowe's love of a good tear-up in close got him hit a lot more than he ought to have been.

Technically Bowe probably was better, but Lewis was overall the better, more accomplished guy. Bowe never proved himself against fellow big men, outside of Gonzalez who was not impressive as a pro.
Golota beat Bowe up twice. In close, against smaller guys Bowe looked amazing, but his outside game was not great.

How about Holyfield ? Does he belong in the discussion with his exalted highness Lennox Lewis ?

I think bowe was the superior boxer had a more fluid classic set of skills however Lewis wasn't far behind and had more power and was more dedicated in training and I think more ruthless in the ring.bowe was a classic case of a talent that didn't make full use of his skills. Could have been an ATG HW rather than a very good HW.

    Cooper never floored Holy either.

Holyfield got rocked and grabbed the rope, some refs will give an 8 count for this, some won't.

Dino lives his own world though.

Just watch the damn fight before embarrassing yourself any further. Holyfield threw plenty of bodyshots in their 2nd fight, I saw it with my own eyes. And as far as the trunks go, that's more the fault of the referee than Lewis, as the ref allowed Lewis to wear these. And given that their's videos on Holyfield's head butting and punches to the ***** don't pretend Lewis was the only one out of these two to bend the rules.

In post #28 you said "there was no body to hit" so that being the case, do you mind telling me how someone can throw and land bodypunches "if there was no body to hit" you stupid moron.

Bowe was more relaxed. (almost to a fault, however)

MAYBE a little naturally stronger physically. (not talking about power here, just straight up raw strength).

    ...and that is about it.

You're correct about 'who is better at...' but for me dedication, longetivity and resume are the desiding factors who is better overall and who should be ranked higher and it's Lewis.

You agree with rating Bowe's jab over Lewis'? Really?

Ok, let's get something clear about Holyfield. The man won his first World Title in his 12th pro fight and did not lose until he was 30 years old. He went undefeated in his first 8 years as a pro. During those 8 years he went 28-0 (22) overall, 10-0 (7) in World Title Fights, 5-0 (3) vs. Hall of Famers, and was the Undisputed World Champion in 2 weight divisions.

He was losing interest in the sport due to not being able to make a fight with Mike Tyson become a reality. He overlooked Bert Cooper but still dropped him in the 1st round with a body shot in front of his home crowd. Cooper came back and even rocked Holyfield in the 3rd round. The ref correctly ruled a knockdown because Cooper knocked Holyfield into the ropes and Holyfield needed the ropes to prevent himself from hitting the canvas. Holyfield won all the other rounds though and stopped Cooper in the 7th round. He won decisions over Foreman and Holmes but both were no win situations because they were both over 40.

Holyfield had made Bowe quit during sparring and thought very little of the big man... mistake! Bowe fought the fight of his life and won a hard fought decision. Holyfield got motivated and fought a very smart fight in their rematch a year later. Bowe may have not been at his best but I don't think it would have mattered. Holyfield should have retired at this point. We wouldn't have seen his KO wins over Tyson and Moorer though. Oh, as for the 1st Moorer fight... had the 2nd round been scored "properly" Holyfield would not have lost that fight (they both looked like shlt to me).

Bowe vs. Lewis? In '93 I'd favor Bowe, probably by KO. With Manny Steward I'd favor Lewis by decision.

bowe also had a better defense, just look at holyfield fight where he ducks, parryies , rolls and counters. lewis was never good at those things.

bowe was a complete fighter, lewis never was.
