Because he hasn't done it before, making it a new experience which may or not not adversely affect his preparations. Given fight day routines are important and Quigg's routine might be disrupted, then he could be disadvantaged by this. So, it can't benefit him but may harm him; ergo a potential problem. Simple, really...
The point is that even if Quigg comfortably makes the 132 - it is so close to ring time that it will scupper any hopes he has of being much bigger/heavier than Carl in the ring. Thats my point. Tnats one of Quiggs biggest advantages in this fight out the window G-O-N-E. Geddit?
Would Quigg lose some of his purse if he doesn't make it? I've heard him say that he may vacate the IBF rather than take the mandatory defence against Shingo Wake, so hypothetically, could he say "**** it" and miss the 10lb check weight?
Quigg said live on Sky after todays weigh in that he's never put on 10 pounds after a weigh anyway so the IBF rehydration clause means nothing. He looked like sh*t today.
The morning weigh in is 9am giving quigg 14 hours if he wants to gain. My guess is 9st 6 in the morning and 9st 10 in the ring
