For real though, why did Cotto take that knee?

    I'm with you..

but Cotton was taking a beating and was never able to hurt Margi in either fight...I think Emmanuel Steward put it best when he said Margis constant stalking and ability to absorb punches without effect, that takes a mental toll as well as a physical toll

Keep in mind too, in tough fights like that a lot of times the fighters themselves forget what round they are in

Being exhausted while being punched is literally one of the worst feeling anyone could experience. Not many people know what true fatigue feels like, can make quitters out of any one. Not that I consider Cotto a quitter, he got beat up took bunch of punishment and just couldn't continue, simple as that.

I know 3 minutes sounds like nothing from the outside but its an eternity when you're that tired

He was completely exhausted. Cotto even though he won a lot of those early rounds was forced to work at a much more demanding pace. The notion that Margarito had bricks and mortar for that fight is ridiculous. If that was the case then he should of blasted Cotto out in 3 rounds instead it went 10+ rounds. Ricardo Torres had Cotto hurt more than Margarito did. Luckily that happened in the early rounds and Cotto was able to get it back together.

Cotto has a lot of mileage on him. His fights against Mosley, Margarito, Clottey and Pacquiao were all grueling wars that can take years off of a fighters career.

Margarito took more punishment against pacquaio than Cotto took from Margarito? But he still didn't take a knee.

That's one of the reasons why Margarito will always be known as a badass.

    Because it sucked in there.

(and he needed a moment to chew it over, like a Twix commercial)

Thankyou. All of that punishment he took ended up shortening his career.

I knew it Ive been expecting this from the haters. Now that its been proven there never was anything illegal in Antonio's wraps EVER!!!!!! Now they start the EPO BS :patsch:patsch Always got to have an excuse for their hero;s getting their asses whupped by a real FIGHTER!!!!!!!!
Cotto took that knee because he was LEGITIMATELY getting his ass whupped & just could not take any more. Only 2 fighters legitimately beat Antonio they were Manny Pacquaio & Paul Williams.
Talking about Manny I got a question.....
If Antonio had busted up Cotto's face shattering his orbital bone & permanently injuring his eye like Pac did to Tony would you all have claimed his gloves were loaded ??? No one questioned Manny's wraps have they?? Wonder why??
Did TONY bleat & :|:| & Take a knee is submission & cry foul like Cotto?? No he didn't because he is a MAN!! & a REAL FIGHTER!! Also ask Manny if he thought Tony hit him harder than anyone ever has before
Antonio Margarito is one of the toughest SOB's I have ever seen

The plaster finally did it's job just like Pac's HGH kicked in......and also did the job against Cotto.
