Well maybe it's because his style isn't exactly fan-friendly? Maybe because he holds more than he hits? Maybe it's because they aren't good enough actors to fake low blows?
Perhaps you eat popcorn while watching paint dry, whatever makes you happy. and no AM is not a technically brilliant "boxer" - but Ive never seen him NOT come to "fight" and never seen him in a boring fight. Most fans would agree as well.
Hopkins has a love it or hate it style just as PBF does....but usually to the average fan.....if you're a fan of pure skills and tactics, chances are you'll love those styles....it's up to what you like. Like some judges favor aggression and some favor boxing ability.
coz if they didn't have hopkins side story re prison, crime etc; the tv networks wouldn't want to air the fight. hopkins style is too cagy, crafty and patient. most casual fans want a bit of passion, not calculation.
Too much subtlety to involved in his style. Most fighters don't take the time to get this far into the game.
Only at his advanced age. He was far more active until around 2003. I don't think boring explains why it isn't emulated.
Bernard Hopkins is one of the best fighters for a young, novice amateur to watch. You can't expect them to develop the cat-like reflexes, slickness, movement, or defense of Hopkins. Simply put, he was something very special. But what young kids can take out of his style are 1) hands-up, 2) chin tucked, 3) punch variety to the body and the head, and 4) short punches thrown exactly from where the guard is held. If you notice, Bernard has never been one to throw arm punches. Everything is thrown with the body and as a result, they're snappy and carry impact power. Along with Hopkins, other fighters to emulate would be Juan Manuel Marquez, Joe Louis, Alexis Arguello, Ricardo Lopez, and Yuri Arbachakov. All stood orthodox and could be accurately described as technical greats that mastered the fundamentals.

Because they don't want to ack like a puzzy and take 5 mins off when it's only a slap on the belly. They don't want to embarrass themself that's why they don't want to emulate Hopkins style.
