Yeah, I was thinking that. I don't mind Hughie fighting this guy given his age\experience whatever but the way Peter was hyping the next guy up and then to deliver this is a bit weak. I'm sure there probably were issues along the way, so don't promise a big fight until you know it can be delivered

Pfft, so many people in a tizz about this!

A 21 yr old slick prospect builds his way sensibly to championship honours. It's called good management.

FFS they have the LINEAL champ in the same gym! He hasn't even defended the belts yet! Look at the 2nd-raters that have the supposed legit belts!

Fighting 1 singular opponent in the top-10/20 and winning catapults you into eliminators and title shots. Tyson needs another 18 months to clean up and THEN it'll be Hughie's time to shine. People need to stop acting like they've been jilted at the altar just because Peter Fury said some $hit....

    Yeah very true

Anthony Joshua won this belt previously taking on Kevin Kingpin Johnson who came into the fight having lost 5 of his previous 6 fights!

I guess Joshua has had to vacate it given he is fighting for the IBF title?

Still AJ winning the fight gave him massively inflated ranking with the WBC having beat nobody of note, so I guess Hughie can expect the same too if he wins.

Yep, I *think* the INTL belt gives you a top 10 ranking, maybe top 15 if the rankings are chock full already.

I totally disagree, Hughie suffers from being in Tyson's shadow. He'd be far more heavily touted here if he wasn't a Fury. I don't think people realise how talented he is.

If Hughie had a little more power he'd made mincemeat of Joshua and I'm deadly serious. He sizes up to him, is slicker, a much better mover. If he can physically get stronger in the next 18 months he eases to a UD in that fight.

Dude, let's not f about, Hughie Fury is an infinitely BETTER FIGHTER than AJ. He beats him easy all f-in' day! Can you see HF struggling with Whyte??? Like fu¢k!

  8. It's a poor attempt to keep Hughie relevant. He'll be knocked out by top HW's with power.

There is this assumption he is a slick boxer but it is easy to look slick against Eastern European robots. He had the chance to fight Wilder and turned it down, turned down Joshua etc etc.

I wish someone would tell the Fury's this. They incessantly bang on about how he's this and that, ready for the top ten etc. and then try and match him with the likes of Guinn.

They need to STFU with that **** unless they're going to start at least attempting to somewhat back it up in the ring. Nobody forced them to talk that kind of nonsense.

Hughie is going to dominate more than Tyson. The skills of that lad on such a tall guy are rare.

If 'they' need to STFU then why aren't you talking to 'them'? Those on this forum aren't bothered what Peter Fury says of a particular day.....why get so butt-hurt?:huh

If anybody's opinion on Hughie Fury is gonna be over-inflated, bias, proud nonsense it's Peter Fury!
Look at the type of $hit Eubank Senior comes out with about Jr!

    I agree.

Winning these international and regional titles and paying the sanctioning fees by defending the titles against mediocre opposition and some how getting a high ranking is just a slightly more legit, modern day version of the old days of giving the sanctioning organisation a back hander for a high ranking.

Fair point, except that Mike Tyson became champ at 20 years 4 months old, and Peter Fury said that Hughie would beat this record.
