Fight of the NIght ! Holm and Tate showed that women's MMA is high level skill now . Tate was very patient and the better wrestler , Holm the better striker and especially her kicks . I had it 3 rounds to 1 for Holm going into the 5th . Tate managed to take advantage in a clinch sinking in the choke even after Holm flipped her over her back , Tate hung on and Holm went to sleep .
I had Holm way ahead on points too. Credit to Tate she won fair and square but I feel that if Holly can work on her ground game she can win a rematch.
Just an amazing win by Tate. The way she held on to that choke...Where the heck does this leave the division? Rematch with Ronda getting the winner? Also, fight exposed Rousey's terrible fight strategy in Holm fight.
I can see the Holm - Rousey rematch going ahead , then the winner fits Tate . Very impressed with Tate , calm and collected throughout . Holly a bit too aggressive it could be argued but she is a warrior , went out on her shield .
Holly Holm showed a great deal of heart in there. She was on her way to taking a clear UD up until the end. Cupcake deserved this tonight. She found a way to get that last takedown and her will to win just took over. Credit to her on finally capturing that title. The UFC needs to give Holly Holm the option to take an immediate rematch with Cupcake. Holm was willing to give Rousey her immediate rematch, until Rousey decided she had better things to do. Holm definitely deserves her chance to "turn down or postpone" a Tate runback, no less. She should have "first dibs" on that. Unfortunately.... I'm totally convinced they're gonna put Rousey-Tate III together next, just so Rousey has a better shot at getting the hype train going for them again. I so hope I'm wrong. This is how the business can be. The right thing to do is make Holm-Tate II now that Rousey is off doing her movies and won't be ready to fight until around late Fall. Then, have Ronda fight the winner.
Holm performed tremendously well tonight and can take a lot of heart from her performance, Tates wrestling proved to be the biggest factor and I believe these two should rematch as Rousey needs to earn her shot at the belt.

She'd probably do the same to Holm next time - but would lose to Ronda in a third attempt, while Holm would knock Ronda out in a rematch. :conf
