On paper he seemed to have gotten off to a good start. Turned pro in 1973 and went unbeaten in his first 20 fights. Then started dropping losses to mediocrities like Randy Stephens and Roy Wallace. Lost to John Tate in the last fight of his career.
I only saw him against the fighting Frenchman, Scotty LeDoux, who apon hearing the verdict for John kicked Howard Cosell's hair piece off. Scott was no ball of fire that night but it looked like he shaded Boudreaux who showed very little of anything.

He was built up in the magazines as this super fast slickster who could glide around the ring like greased lightning, but when you saw him in person he was far less athletic and elusive than promised. He didn't exactly have heavy hands either. Boudreaux's best fight, in my opinion, was his razor thin loss to a rising John Tate. He looked durable, strong, and held his own. I believe he is a Pastor of a church in Louisiana right now and when I last saw him a few years back, he looked 15 years younger than his actual age. He maintained his conditioning evidently.
He was someone who had a medium small base of fame. I certainly remember his name. Tate his high point.
