    http://www.badlefthook.com/2009/11/13/1155419/team-cotto-has-no-doubts-margarito

Here's a more closer look at that wrap. I blew it up to a larger size on my computer and that tear just doesn't look like a piece of flat knucklepad that was confiscated from Margarito against Mosley would cause that type of tear.

I dont think even if that knucklepad was hardened would it cause a tear like that on a wrap. that's cushioned between gauze at the bottom, guaze at the top, and then the cushion from the actual boxing gloves themselves.

Put your hate aside and just plain reason. If that was actual hard plaster that tore through Margarito's wrap like that, it would have torn through Margarito's knuckles themselves causing them to bleed.
Why isn't there a blood stain coming out of that tear?

HBO and team Cotto say that's blood stains on Margarito's wraps, why isn't there blood where there was an actual tear????????

If actual plaster was driving through the guaze it would have resulted more of a scuff tear looking more like the knuckle area of the wrap was worn not torn.
That tear looks like it was caused by a sharp object, like scissors or a blade.
I have little doubt it was cut up during the wrapping session.

Just actually think about it, Cotto himself or HBO have never made an issue about that tear, whoever was present on team Cotto's side inspecting Margarito wrap must know that tear was there before Margarito entered the ring.

Fact of the matter is, that wrap Is abnormal. There's a reason it looks that way, and I believe it's due to having something illegal in those wraps... he got suspended for a reason, that has to be taken into consideration.. I used to be a Margarito fan man, but that scandal put **** into perspective.. Look at his track record after getting caught... it's not too good. And another thing is he used those pads during sparring sessions too, and who knows how long he's been using them as a pro..Lujan's ear just fell off naturally?:think

I dont think there's any use debating about it really.

Everytime I bring up Emmanuel Stewards words when he said that in Nevada the commission supplies a set amount of gauze and tape and according to Steward a fighter cant use more gauze than whats provided by the commission, those hating on Margarito and dead set to keep their mind open on how Nevada operates in regards to fighters wrapping, is just ignored.

When an inspector arrives to inspect a wrapping session in Nevada, he gives the fighter a sealed bag with the materials needed to wrap his hands and he views him wrap with those materials.
Point blank my friend. I mean that's it. There's zero leeway there on the opportunity of Javier Capetillo to insert one of his own illegal knucklepads with the inspector and Cotto's representative present.

It think that its clear as day that Margarito didn't load vs Cotto in Nevada.

The only thing I want to hear from you drenlou is why isn't there blood on that tear but allegedly is on other parts of Margarito's handwraps????????????
You have yet to answer an honest question while I've honestly answered yours????

I talked to The late great emmanuel Steward in 2012 and he didn't say that at all. He kinda of questioned it actually... gauze doesn't break like that in boxing... We just have to disagree on the subject Vlade... Kobe or Lebron?

I'll answer that... those were pre used pads that Tony has used in sparring and professional fights... Capetillo already admitted he grabbed the wrong pads which were used, but the real question should be why we're those pads even brought in with the gear in the first place? Shouldn't they have been thrown away?

    Don't you know?

Listen, In California where Margarito's wraps were confiscated in the Mosely fight, the fighter brings his own wrapping material.
The fighter brings gauze, tape, knucklepads, etc..........
Emmanuel Steward talked about it. In certain states you can bring your own material. You can even make the knucklepad inserts at home and use them during the wrapping session, which is what Capetillo did in wrapping Margarito. He went into his bag of materials and got out knucklepads that had already been made.

In Nevada where the Cotto fight was held, Capetillo would have had to make the knucklepads from scratch using the commission materials with the the inspectors present.
    See how it works?

There is a different protocol to be followed in Nevada where the Cotto fight took place than in California where the Mosely fight took place.

California's commission protocol lends itself to trainers and fighters attempting to get away with something that may be illegal.

I'm not sure about Margarito himself, but I do suspect that Javier Capetillo knew that the used knucklepads he inserted on Margarito were against the rules.

What Capetillo used on Margarito was used knucklepads that had been used over and over again. Everytime you use a knucklepad it gets compressed and they shrink due to the pounding it takes.
When you re-use them, them being compressed, you can add more guaze over them and make them look fresh, when in fact they're compressed and obviously more stiff than a fresh knucklepad.

Its against the rules to do that drenlou, but they're far from being hardened plaster.
Capetillo should have been suspended for attempting to do that, but banned for life? That's a little harsh imo.

Nazim Richardson just happened to ask to feel those knucklepads since he knew they were brought out of a bag already made.
He let the first knucklepad escape his attention but something inside him made him think to ask to feel the knucklepad for the 2nd hand being wrapped. That's when he found that the knucklepads felt different than a fresh pad, and of course Richardson being Richardson, he was going to make a mountain out of a mole hill and make a major stink about it.

Btw, there was more than a few people at the commission hearing that felt those knucklepads who reported that they were not hard, but felt stiffer or firmer than a normal knucklepad.

Of course they felt that way. The knucklepads had been used on more than one occasion causing them to moisten and compress, so of course gauze that's been sweated upon and compressed is going to have a firmer feel than a fresh piece of rolled up guaze that's never been used.

I've been an avid Laker fan since the Showtime Lakers so I may be a little bias but just a little.

KOBE!!!! Ice in his veins, he was just clutch when it mattered.

Last quarter of a playoff game I'll take Kobe allday everyday over Lebron James!

Magic and Kareem over Kobe and Shaq though! :D

Divac is spot on.... the reason why Margarito crushed Cotto was because of his stamina and iron chin. Moreover, when he fought Shane Margarito had a horrible camp and was 12 pounds over weight a week before the fight. Capetillo wanted to cancel the fight but management allegedly refused to cancel it as the payday was too big.

I actually know Capetillo quite well

Man I'm a huge laker fan, been following them since the 90's when van exel and Clyde drexler were doing their thing... my brother in law is a lebron fan and we always get into it at family get togethers... Lebron gots the stats but skill for skills Kobe is just better. LEBRON always seemed goofy footed to me. Divac was a good center doe. Bulls vs Lakers was the game to watch back then!

I think you are on point... it was merely extra padding and not plaster.

Where you been my friend? Nice to see you posting again! :good

On Capetillo, since you know him, do you think he knowingly inserted those used knucklepads?
Do you think he knew they were illegal?
