He is definitely a tougher out than Boxrec may suggest and of course, most importantly he is the mando. Not a massive fan of Degale but he's been in as deep as the current SMW will allow and has proved he's willing to travel so in my book he's earned his stripes.:good

It's the only way some fighters will ever get a chance to win a world title if they are not with a big promoter or have TV offers coming out of their bum.

Most contenders who are a big draw reject final eliminators as they must take 50-50 in the eliminator, then 25-75 v The Champ in the mando, and would probably earn more waiting for a voluntary to be offered.

For example, would Shawn Porter have ever considered fighting Kell Brook if the IBF didn't make him?

And since Brook has been champ, Bundu, Khan, Bradley, Porter, Alexander and Ali have all turned down the chance to become mando (Spence will soon follow suit). And has been left to fight Dan and Bizier as mando's. Frankie Gavin was also top rated when Brook beat him.

Another thing fighters don't really like about the IBF is the 10lb rehydration clause for the next morning.

I think if people really knew the rules and not just thought the IBF was picking anybody in the rankings (you can't fight for a title coming off a loss for example) they'd be applauded.
