    On Kell Brook card

Towers been out since 2014 but had top sparring

Allen had an early draw, but only 23.

Is the the start of the HW 2nd division?

Dave Allen needs to sort out his weight, too much yo yo'ing.

He should be in the low 220's, not coming in at 250lbs plus.

Always wished Carl Spencer would have kept up the the game, him and Allen would have been a good local scr@p.

Should be a good fight anyway, would have gone for Towers but I havent seen him fight for sometime so who knows what he has left. A good 50/50 fight.

Good fight as far as levels go. Winner should go on to challenge Hughie for the English Title.

Since when was Hughie the English champ? As far as I know big John McDermott is still the English champ, unless you mean for the vacant title?

Hennessy won the purse bids for the title last year so Big John really has to make the decision if he wants to box on- I'm shocked the board hasn't stripped him yet. I suspect it'll be Hughie vs Allen/Towers for the vacant title in March.

Yeah, could do with it so the other domestic level fighters have something to fight for, either that or wait til Joshua drops the British which he's only just won, some decent domestic level fights out there.

    Getting close now.
For me the young lion Allen takes this fight.
Towers has all the tool but lacks heart for the fight. He cowers when under pressure that Allen will bring in bucket loads.
There is a reason we haven't seen much of Towers ....This is his last hurrah and one which will end badly for him.

No betting odds out yet for this.
I think the bookies will make Towers the slight favourite. ...Whatya think??

For me an injury free / fully fit Richard Towers takes this.

Just looking back Towers' only defeat came against "Big Daddy" Lucas Brown in 2013, which in hindsight isn't such a bad defeat.

    It's a nice fight domestically....

I'm sure many of you guys remember fondly how exciting the English domestic scene was in the 00s. Just because this fight is being held at a certainly level doesn't mean it won't be a fun watch.
