  1. We will get to see Billy embarrass himself once more. Keep the throat cutting gestures out of it this time?

hardly a cash out. Groves is decent but his lustre has faded somewhat now.

    interesting fight

    Easy work for George.
Brophy with his 6% ko ratio is hardly going to trouble George is he dosen't even have a punchers chance awful fight.

    Blimey!
Bit of a step back aint it? Brophy aint done sheet!
Most of the people he's fought have had more losses than wins

im sure we'll hear 'nobody else would take the fight' from groves

Delighted for Brophy getting this fight on a big bill hopefully he can shock a few people with a win or at least give a good account of himself.

  7. More chance of Billy slimming down to SFW than Brophy winning.

I remember when the fight with Ricky Burns and Rocky Martinez was signed and everyone said the same thing "Ricky will get beat/KO'd" etc Ricky took his chance and became a 2 weight world champion so it is not impossible that David Brophy can do the same thing and beat George Groves.

I'm a massive George fan and defend him when people say that he isn't looking the same fighter but if it is the case that George is on the slide then being in against a hungry fighter with nothing to lose could be a potential banana skin!!

Groves seems to have faded in last few fights and lost his
Punch power though im not convincesd of that. imo he has been training poorly and coached badly but hopefully with a new trainer he can get back to his old self. He stops brophy in mid rounds very comfortably

How is he "cashing out"? His career isn't over because he loses to Groves- did DeGale's end when he lost to groves? Did Ricky Burns' career end when he lost to Carl Johanson? What a load of total pish some folk on here talk.

Ricky was far from proven at domestic level, he was beaten comprehensively by Alex Arthur and Carl Johansen when challenging for titles. I know he beat Graham Earl and that was a very good result but imo it was more of a fluke result, Ricky was a late call up, jabbed and moved and got the win. I think Graham Earl probably took him lightly.

Fair play to him, he'll be getting a decent payday for this. Like the above said, hasn't got anything to lose so for him it's a perfect opportunity.

Surely not comparing both Davie boy. Ricky was in a competitive fight with Alex Arthur who was a World Champion and Carl Johanson who was very good.. Ricky had built himself into a position to fight a very over rated champion. Rocky doesn't travel well and came in really under prepared he had Ricky over and totally switched off.. Ricky was a huge SFW and was a lot bigger than Rocky..

David is jumping up 2 levels here. Groves is World level and a huge SMW he will be a lot bigger that Brophs on the night.. This on paper is a huge mismatch.. Groves best opponent Carl Froch and has a victory over Olympic Gold medalist and world Champion James Degale.. David's best win is against Tobias Webb who had him rocked.. I think this is a no lose fight for him as most will expect him to be KO'D in the first few rounds.. If he can come through to a points loss or even win then the World's his Oyster. Can't see it I'm afraid think it's a run before you can walk be similar to Cornish v Joshua
