They both were underrated defensively, but after how long of incessantly hearing it do they cease to be underrated?
In the Wade fight I'm expecting to be told 'Glolovkin's a surprisingly good boxer'.

Canelo has superior slipping/weaving skills. GGG's parrying is excellent, but he's more of the 'attack is the best form of defence' school.

Canelo will be deflecting Golovkins punches with His Face....

GGG definitely. Biggest thing is that GGG can incorporate his defense into his offence seamlessly while Canelo can either only attack or defend at any one time. GGG is a class above in all respects. Best believe.

    I agree with this.

Both have good defense albeit with different styles. Neither are defensive wizards mind

I never denied that. In fact, I completely agree. It was really showcased in the Cotto fight and thats where everyone took notice but he's had great defense for a while.

As for GGG you can just watch the video if you want to see it. It's better than blindly hating.

I've watched a lot of GGG already... I've made an educated opinion on the matter.

Then whats the problem? You don't think Golovkin parries and blocks punches well or did you misunderstand and think I said Golovkin slips punches as well as Canelo?

Probably the latter considering people who spend more time on these forums hating than actually discussing are the first ones to jump to conclusions.

Best answer so far. Golovkin is one of the best I have seen at transitioning from defense to offense (and vise versa) on film. Everything about Golovkin's style is subtle, fluid and clinical. Canelo is pretty skilled in his own right but his level of finesse does not compare IMO.

Canelo showcased he can "attack" and defend at both the same time in the Cotto fight... GGG to my recollection has not... I do remember him getting hit flush in fights...
